Man, son arrested for murder
Indore: Manpur police have claimed to have solved the case of an unidentified body found in the forest two days ago and arrested a father-son duo from Bicholi village for murder. ASP Rupesh Dwivedi said the victim, identified as Harsh alias Damru, 21, son of Mukesh Charela, a resident of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Mhow, was a frequent visitor to the home of accused Golu Vaskel in Bicholi. The two were friends, but tensions between them escalated after Harsh allegedly tried to control whom Golu met or spoke to. On the night of August 11, following a heated argument over a friend who visited Golu the previous day, the accused, angered by Harsh's repeated interference, allegedly hit him on the head with a stone behind his house, killing him on the spot. Golu, with the help of his father, Bhagirath Vaskel, then wrapped the body in a saree, packed it into two plastic sacks, and dumped it in the forest, covering it with teak leaves to hide the identity. The body was discovered on August 12 by a village watchman, who alerted the police. Given the nature of the injuries and the concealment, police suspected murder and registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A special team was formed under the direction of senior officers, and Golu was traced and detained from Tanda Dhar. During interrogation, he confessed to committing the murder and covering it up with his father's help. Both accused were produced in court on Wednesday and sent to police remand. Police officials praised the efforts of Manpur police station in swiftly solving the case. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI).
