Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2: Everything to Know About Release Date, Games and Prize Money of Netflix Show
Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 will premiere on November 4, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. The reality competition show returns with 456 contestants competing for a USD 4.56 million prize, echoing the setup of the original scripted hit. What to expect in Season 2? According to Netflix, the new season follows the spirit of Squid Game while adding fresh twists. The July 10, 2025 teaser previewed Gong-gi, a game where players toss and catch small stones. Expect the same high-stakes eliminations, large group strategy, and quieter character moments that drove Season 1's buzz. Here's what Netflix has confirmed Brandon Riegg, Netflix's VP of nonfiction series, said, 'There was no red light in our decision to green light Season 2 of Squid Game: The Challenge, the most ambitious unscripted show we've premiered at Netflix.' He added, 'We're so excited to continue the franchise of Squid Game with our team in Korea, and producers at Studio Lambert and The Garden for this epic competition series.' Netflix has again tapped the UK's Studio Lambert (with The Garden) to produce. The Season 2 set features six elaborate stages in London, built to handle large-scale games, dorm-style living, and cinematic visuals. Contestants will wear the trademark green tracksuits, sleep in bunk-bed dorms, and face group and solo rounds that test strategy and stamina. Want to join the challenge? Casting guidelines note that applicants must be 21 years or older. While Netflix confirmed 456 players, the cast list remains under wraps. With Season 3 already renewed, production is also gearing up beyond this run, and application portals are open for future rounds. The original Squid Game became Netflix's most-watched series and earned 14 Emmy nominations, paving the way for the reality spin-off. Season 1 of The Challenge debuted on November 22, 2023, racking up 200 million viewing hours in its first month and topping Netflix's Global Top 10 as the most-watched unscripted program in its first week. Its mix of tough tasks, emotional stories, and social gameplay pulled in global audiences. Mai Whelan won the inaugural season and later returned to a calmer life with her family.

The chaos begins! Squid Game: The Challenge reveals season 2 release date, intense games and savage new rules
Netflix has confirmed the start date for the second season of Squid Game: The Challenge. The reality TV show, which sees 456 contestants (much like the TV show) take on various challenges in a bid to win a life-changing sum of money, is heading back to our screens, and it's only a few months away. On Thursday 10th July, the streaming site revealed a first-look at the second season, which will include new games such as Gong-gi. So, when does it start? And what can viewers expect. Read on for everything we know so far. Squid Game: The Challenge season two will start on Tuesday 4th November. Episodes will be available to stream from 8am GMT. Netflix confirmed the start date with the first look teaser trailer. "The games have ended. Now the real competition GAME: THE CHALLENGE returns November 4," Netflix wrote alongside the teaser clip. Similar to the first season, 456 new contestants will take on the challenges in a bid to win $4.56 million. Viewers can expect "new players", "new games" and "new rules". "This time, 456 brand-new contestants will enter the ultimate test of strategy, alliances, and endurance as they compete for a life-changing $4.56 million prize. Inspired by the iconic original series with shocking new twists and never-before-seen games season two raises the stakes higher than ever. As players face elimination at every turn, only one can emerge victorious," Netflix revealed. We'll have to wait for the new season to kick off to meet the players, but as usual there'll be 456 contestants from across the world taking part. We'll update you right here as soon as we know more. Netflix are yet to confirm all the games that will be played in the second season, but from the teaser trailer we can see that Gong-gi has been added. Gong-gi is a Korean game, which see players throwing and catching small stones (usually five) in a series of rounds, testing hand-eye coordination and dexterity. In season two of Squid Game, the players played Gong-gi, as part of the Six‑Legged Pentathlon. Judging by the teaser, it looks like the contestants for The Challenge will be taking on these same games, so we can expect to see them also playing Ddakji, Flying Stone, Gong-gi, Spinning top and Jegi. In the second season of the drama, the characters also played a game called Mingle, where they had to form groups of exact sizes to enter numbered rooms before the time runs out, so it's likely we could see this game in the second season of The Challenge. Squid Game: The Challenge starts on Netflix on 4th November.
