How to keep cool in hot weather Most of us welcome hot weather, but when it's too hot, there are health risks. Here are three ways to keep cool according to the NHS... Keep out of the heat if you can. If you have to go outside, stay in the shade especially between 11am and 3pm, wear sunscreen, a hat and light clothes, and avoid exercise or activity that makes you hotter. Cool yourself down. Have cold food and drinks, avoid alcohol, caffeine and hot drinks, and have a cool shower or put cool water on your skin or clothes. Keep your living space cool. Close windows during the day and open them at night when the temperature outside has gone down. Electric fans can help if the temperature is below 35 degrees. Check the temperature of rooms, especially where people at higher risk live and sleep. It has a sleek grey design and adjustable height, offering versatility and comfort. Not only this, but it also has a 12 hour timer, auto 3D oscillation and a mood light setting. As a result, B&Q bosses have claimed it makes 'the perfect choice for any space, whether at home or in the office.' Bargain hunters beam And Haley's post has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up 279 likes and 344 comments. Not only did many 'need' it, but others also shared their thoughts on the purse-friendly fan. One person said: 'Thank you for posting this! I bought one yesterday and it is the best fan I've ever had.' Another added: 'Need this.' A third commented: 'I bought one of these. So good I had to go back and buy another.' Meanwhile, someone else wrote: 'Thank you, my son is in the attic so you can imagine how hot it is up there. He's got a fan and an air conditioning unit which is rubbish so I'll try this.'
