Beloved star from Good Luck Charlie is now unrecognizable from her Disney days

Ready to feel old? The adorable baby from the beloved Disney Channel show Good Luck Charlie is now a high school student... and boy, does she look different from her Disney days. Mia Talerico, now 16, was skyrocketed into the spotlight when she portrayed the titular tot in the popular sitcom Good Luck Charlie back in 2010. She started starring in the series when she was only two years old, and her adorable personality and impressive acting skills at such a young age captured the hearts of millions. But flash forward to now, more than a decade after the show concluded, and Mia is all grown up and preparing to start 11th grade. She is now a popular influencer, often sharing videos and photos to her 1.3 million followers. In one recent clip, she showed off her nighttime skin care routine, and in another, she tried on various prom dresses. For the latter, many Good Luck Charlie fans couldn't believe that someone who they watched as a baby on screen was now headed to prom, and they flooded the comment section with posts about it. 'Our little Charlie is all grown up,' one user wrote. Another gushed, 'My childhood show,' alongside a heart. 'Wait! Charlie's heading to prom already!!! Disney please make that reboot before it's too late,' someone else begged. 'I have to keep remembering that you're in high school and Good Luck Charlie is over 10 years now,' a fourth comment read. 'Omg you have prom soon you are about to be all grown up that's insane,' a fifth said. 'Damn Charlie grew up beautifully,' announced a different user. Another penned, 'Oh my gosh you're all grown up!' After Good Luck Charlie ended in 2014, Mia went on to star as Paige in the USA show Mani from 2018 to 2022. She's now gearing up to act in the upcoming family comedy American Summer alongside Steve Guttenberg, Christie Brinkley, and Logan Gray. She has also released her own line of hair accessories, but her main focus seems to be finishing high school. For the latter, many Good Luck Charlie fans couldn't believe that someone who they watched as a baby on screen was now headed to prom, and they flooded the comment section In 2023, Mia reunited with her former Good Luck Charlie costars Bradley Steven Perry and Eric Allan Kramer, and it left fans of the show extremely emotional. Last year, Good Luck Charlie star Jason Dolley spoke about the possibility of a reboot to Deadline. 'I think there's plenty of interesting stories to be told. Personally, I'm interested in what PJ's trajectory looks like as a chef,' he said of his character. 'How far towards Gordon Ramsay does he go? I would just love to work with those people again. I think we all would do it.'

Former Disney channel star Bridgit Mendler raises $30 million for tech startup

Bridgit Mendler, once known as the cheerful Teddy Duncan on Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie, has taken a surprising and remarkable leap from television into the world of aerospace. The 31-year-old actress-turned-entrepreneur is now the CEO and co-founder of Northwood Space, a startup aiming to overhaul the way satellite communications are built and accessed. After earning a law degree from Harvard, Mendler stepped far beyond the entertainment sphere to launch Northwood Space, which is based in El Segundo, California. The company's mission? To construct a 'data highway between Earth and space,' as Mendler described it in a recent interview. According to CNBC, the company has just raised $30 million in seed funding, backed by top venture capital firms including Founders Fund and Andreessen Horowitz. Northwood Space's focus is revolutionary: mass production of satellite ground stations. Traditionally, these stations—which are essential for relaying data between Earth and satellites—have been expensive, custom-built, and few in number. Northwood Space intends to disrupt that model by creating standardised ground stations that can be mass-produced. The aim is to bring scalable, affordable, and flexible space infrastructure to governments and businesses that manage satellite constellations. Mendler explained the vision with clarity: they want to build 'factories for ground stations,' which would make this infrastructure more accessible to a wider range of users. The company's first ground station is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2024. The recent $30 million funding round is a major step forward for Northwood. The capital will be used to grow the team, refine the startup's technologies, and begin production and deployment of their ground station networks. The round was led by Founders Fund and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Also Capital, BoxGroup, and Humba Ventures. Despite Mendler's fame, insiders stress that the success of Northwood Space isn't just a product of celebrity spotlight. Her leadership and deep technical interest are said to be driving the company's momentum in a competitive and highly technical field. What might have looked like a novelty venture to some is now being recognised as a serious industry player. Bridgit Mendler's story stands as a bold counter to conventional expectations around celebrities and their careers. It highlights how passion, education, and vision can open doors to new sectors—even space. As Northwood Space continues to grow, its work could redefine the way satellite communications are built and operated, with Mendler at the helm of it all.

'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody' Turns 20: The Best Classic Disney Channel Shows, Ranked

On this day 20 years ago, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody made its debut, airing its pilot on Disney Channel in March of 2005. Feel old yet? I might be showing my age here, but today's kids will never quite understand how good television used to be! If you grew up in the '90s or 2000s, the Disney Channel was a key part of your childhood. From the iconic bumpers to the unforgettable shows, the golden era of Disney Channel is a nostalgic treasure trove of memories. I mean, who didn't try (and fail) to draw the Disney logo with a glow stick like their favorite stars? Let's take a look back and rank the best classic Disney Channel shows that shaped our childhoods. 12. Hannah Montana (2006 - 2011) Miley Stewart lived the best of both worlds, juggling her secret pop star life with her high school reality. Miley Cyrus became a household name thanks to her role in Hannah Montana, which defined an era for a generation of Disney fans. The show gave us relatable teen struggles paired with glamorous performances and unforgettable songs like 'The Best of Both Worlds.' It taught us all the value of keeping things balanced, though we'll admit, her double life was pretty enviable. 11. Jessie (2011 - 2015) Life in New York City with a group of rich kids and a nanny. Jessie was another fun-filled sitcom on Disney Channel, starring Debby Ryan as Jessie Prescott, a nanny to the four Ross children living in a posh NYC apartment. The show's humor, lovable characters, and the hijinks that ensue with Jessie and the kids made it a go-to for many viewers in the 2010s. 10. Good Luck Charlie (2010 - 2014) A heartwarming family show with relatable moments. With a focus on the Duncan family and their hilarious everyday chaos, Good Luck Charlie offered a wholesome, family-friendly experience. Watching Teddy Duncan record videos for her little sister Charlie as a guide for the future hit home for many viewers. It was one of the last great family-centric Disney Channel shows before things started to shift in the late 2010s. 9. K.C. Undercover (2015 - 2018) A teenager turned secret agent, juggling high school life and spy missions. Zendaya starred as K.C. Cooper, a high schooler who secretly works as a spy. This show blended action, adventure, and teen drama, creating a dynamic that captivated viewers. K.C. juggled life as a regular teenager while saving the world, and it offered fun storylines while also teaching valuable lessons about bravery and responsibility. 8. Lizzie McGuire (2001 - 2004) The quintessential coming-of-age show for the early 2000s. Before Hannah Montana or That's So Raven, Lizzie McGuire was one of Disney Channel's best-loved shows. Hillary Duff made Lizzie a relatable and awkward teen who tried to navigate the ups and downs of middle school, friendships, and family life. Her inner voice, often represented as a little animated character, gave us all the hilarious commentary we needed. 7. That's So Raven (2003 - 2007) Who didn't want to be able to predict the future? Starring Raven-Symoné, That's So Raven was an absolute game-changer for Disney Channel. Raven's psychic abilities mixed with her hilarious antics made for one of the most memorable characters in Disney history. It was a rare show that mixed fantasy with real-life issues, creating a perfect formula for laughs and life lessons. 6. Kim Possible (2002 - 2007) She's got the best sidekick and a heart of gold. Kim Possible was a groundbreaking animated show that brought together action and humor in a way that resonated with both kids and adults. The show centered on Kim, a high schooler who could save the world while acing her homework. Along with her lovable sidekick Ron Stoppable and his pet naked mole rat Rufus, Kim became an iconic Disney Channel heroine. 5. The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005 - 2008) The hotel life was the best life. Two mischievous twins, played by Dylan and Cole Sprouse, took over the Tipton Hotel, and viewers couldn't get enough. The Suite Life became one of the most iconic Disney shows of all time, with its hilarious characters and timeless themes. From the chaotic adventures of Zack and Cody to the unforgettable one-liners of Mr. Moseby, this show remains a fan favorite and is still beloved today. 4. Wizards of Waverly Place (2007 - 2012) Who wouldn't want to have magical powers? Starring Selena Gomez, Wizards of Waverly Place blended magic, family dynamics, and plenty of humor. The Russo family's journey in balancing their magical abilities with everyday life made for a fun and relatable show. Selena Gomez's breakout role as Alex Russo became a defining part of Disney Channel's magic during the late 2000s. 3. Even Stevens (2000 - 2003) Shia LaBeouf at his finest. Before he became a Hollywood star, Shia LaBeouf was Louis Stevens, the charmingly annoying little brother in Even Stevens. The show captured the sibling rivalry and misadventures of Louis and his older sister Ren in a way that resonated with many viewers. Even Stevens had the perfect balance of slapstick humor and heartwarming moments. 2. Phineas and Ferb (2007 - 2015) The endless summer adventures. Phineas and Ferb was one of the most innovative animated series Disney Channel ever aired. The two stepbrothers made each day of their summer vacation an adventure, building everything from roller coasters to time machines. With its catchy songs and memorable characters, it's no wonder this show continued to resonate with fans well beyond its original run. 1. Gravity Falls (2012 - 2016) The show that blends mystery, humor, and heart. This animated show about twins Dipper and Mabel Pines and their mysterious adventures in the small town of Gravity Falls is a masterclass in storytelling. With its witty writing, quirky characters, and unexpected plot twists, Gravity Falls is a show that has maintained a devoted fan base even after its final episode aired.
