YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Suzanne D. 'Susan' Greenwalt, 67, passed away peacefully, Friday afternoon, April 4, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Suzanne was born November 21, 1957, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Rose Sinkovich Humphrey, and was a lifelong area resident. Find obituaries from your high school A proud graduate of North High School, Class of 1976, Susan dedicated much of her life to serving others through her work at Goodwill Industries, where she was employed for 32 years. She later continued her service with Vocational Guidance Services at the Youngstown Airbase, retiring after a meaningful career. Susan was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She found joy in life's simple pleasures—baking treats for loved ones, peaceful walks in the park, and caring for the animals she adored, especially the squirrels she lovingly fed near her home. She also enjoyed the occasional visit to the casino and treasured the time she spent with her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is survived by her siblings, Michael (Rebecca) Greenwalt of Youngstown, Mark (Sharon) Greenwalt of Youngstown, Ann (Jim) Johnston of Columbus, Barb (Vince) Harper of Youngstown, who tirelessly cared for Suzanne throughout her illness and Richard Humphrey of Youngstown; many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. Funeral services will begin at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church 421 Covington St., Youngstown. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown. She will be deeply missed, but her kind spirit, warm heart, and gentle soul will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Susan's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Wilkins, Dr. Chahine, and the staff of Ohio Living Home Care and Hospice for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Susan throughout her illness. A special thank you is also extended to her sister, Barb and brother-in-law, Vince, Nicole, Mike, Ben, Vance and Lynn Toomey for their unwavering love, support, and presence through the years. Goodwill to open new store in El Paso's Lower Valley

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Goodwill Industries of El Paso will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of its newest location in the Lower Valley. The grand opening of the newest Goodwill thrift store will be at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, at 700 N. Zaragoza. The opening of the new store is in conjunction with the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, according to the news release by Goodwill Industries of El Paso. According to Goodwill Industries, the majority of funds gathered from the new store will go to programs that support its mission of 'employment training and opportunities to people with barriers to employment.' The Employment Development Skills is a program that partners with local school districts to help graduate-ready students with barriers develop work skills. Goodwill student-operated opens at Canutillo High School In addition to the student program, the thrift store also offers computer centers, known as Goodwill El Paso Job-Link Centers, to provide anyone with job-searching skills, such as resume building, employment skills, interviewing skills, and the ability to search and apply to various positions, according to Goodwill Industries.
