Iman Shumpert's ex-wife Teyana Taylor hit with $70,000 fine for breaching divorce agreement

Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor have been going through divorce contract-breaching tensions. In a series of events, Teyana Taylor was asked by the court to pay a sum of $70,000 to her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, for violating the divorce agreement that was specified by the court.
According to this agreement, the former couple wasn't allowed to disclose any information about the judgment.
Both exes attended the hearing that took place on July 25 over who violated the 2024 divorce judgment. Teyana Taylor was charged with a felony because, earlier in March, she posted a video on Instagram discussing their divorce with her fans and followers. The video took everyone by surprise, thereby committing to the breach of contract.
Teyana Taylor's contract violation hit her with $70,000 penalty to Iman Shumpert
Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor's divorce was finalized in June 2024. However, things turned out differently for Teyana Taylor as she was charged with $70,000 for violating their divorce agreement. On July 25, a hearing took place in the court, which started a heated debate between the who and their allegations over who disclosed information. The 'Google Me' singer had posted a video on Instagram, disclosing her divorce information to fans and followers, which was again a violation of their contract.
The judges heard both parties but couldn't defend Teyana Taylor due to a lack of evidence to prove her claim.
Iman Shumpert is reportedly paying $8,000 every month in child support
As a part of the former couple's divorce settlement, Iman Shumpert is reportedly paying $8,000 per month to support his daughters. The divorce settlement also laid down the fact that he will have to pay for their private schools and tuition. The settlement also provided ex-wife Teyana Taylor with four luxury homes worth over $10 million, and several high-profile vehicles, including a Maybach and a Mercedes Sprinter.
The divorce helped Teyana Taylor gain full ownership of her business.
Teyana Taylor sought divorce from Iman Shumpert citing emotional abuse
In January 2023, Teyana Taylor secretly filed for divorce from Iman Shumpert. She accused him of being a jealous and emotional abuser, who was insecure about her fame. She said that her ex was treating her cruelly and was extremely narcissistic throughout their marriage. Their divorce was finalized in June 2024.
