Plantation drive marks Kargil Diwas at city hosp

Lucknow: Paying tributes to the soldiers, who laid down their lives for the country during 1999 Kargil War , the Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute here organised a plantation drive under the theme 'Ek Ped Kargil Balidaniyo Ke Naam' on Saturday. As part of the initiative, 25 saplings of sacred and native trees, including sandalwood, shami, Goolar, Ashok, Rudraksh, Parijat, and Maulishree, were planted on the hospital premises. Director Prof MLB Bhatt narrated the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers during the Kargil War. Ashutosh, regional chief of Vidyarthi Karya, RSS, recounted the bravery and indomitable spirit of the soldiers, who fought in the challenging terrains of Kargil. The event concluded with all attendees observing a two-minute silence in honour of the martyrs. They later raised slogans of 'Jai Hind', reaffirming their dedication to the nation.
