Engineering students urged to prioritise mental well-being with physical health
Buxar: Govt Engineering College (GEC), Buxar, organised a mental health awareness programme on Monday under the theme "Nayi Umeed: A Better Tomorrow." The initiative aimed to sensitise students and the college community about the significance of mental well-being and to promote a supportive and inclusive campus environment.
Buxar civil surgeon, Dr Shiv Kumar Prasad, was the chief guest at the event. In his address, Dr Prasad emphasised, "A healthy mind is the foundation of a healthy body." He highlighted the growing importance of mental health in today's fast-paced world and urged students to prioritize their emotional well-being alongside physical health. He also encouraged them to seek professional support whenever necessary.
Dr Kumari Anuradha, the event's keynote speaker, discussed multiple facets of mental health, offering practical strategies for stress management, building self-confidence, and cultivating a positive mindset.
The programme included interactive sessions and student-focused activities, where participants actively shared their personal experiences and engaged in meaningful discussions on mental wellness.
College principal Ram Naresh Rai addressed the gathering, highlighting that mental health is vital not only for academic success but also for overall life balance. He urged students to participate actively in such initiatives to foster self-growth and resilience.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members alike, who greatly benefited from the insightful sessions. The programme was coordinated by Surbhi Rani.
