5 schools in Mohali get Rs 80L for infra upgrade
Mohali: Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh Monday dedicated development projects worth Rs 79.63 lakh to five govt schools in his constituency, reaffirming the state's commitment to educational reform.
Addressing the gatherings in the five schools, Singh said the AAP govt under CM Bhagwant Mann has launched an "education revolution" that is modernising Punjab's govt schools and restoring public trust in the education system.
He said Rs 17.06 lakh has been sanctioned for two smart classrooms at Govt Primary Smart School, Daun; Rs 37.55 lakh for five smart classrooms at govt primary and high schools, Daun (Ramgarh); Rs 15.02 lakh for two smart classrooms at Govt Primary School, Raipur and Rs 10 lakh for development work at Govt High Smart School, Phase-6, Mohali.
The MLA also felicitated the top-performing students from Govt High Smart School, Daun.
He said 28 lakh students study in around 20,000 govt schools across Punjab, many of which now boast of smart classrooms, proper drinking water facilities, toilets, green boards, and internet connectivity. He also highlighted the recruitment of 20,000 teachers, regularisation of 12,700 contractual educators, and deployment of 9,000 sanitation staff and guards.
"Punjab's govt schools now rival private institutions in facilities. We urge teachers to continue serving with dedication to build a brighter future for our children," he said.
