Former Indiana women's basketball star and Indiana Fever player Grace Berger signs 3rd contract with Dallas

Grace Berger, a former Indiana women's basketball star and member of the Indiana Fever, has signed a third seven-day hardship contract with the Dallas Wings, the team announced Tuesday. Berger will be eligible to play vs. New York tonight. Berger was in training camp with the Minnesota Lynx and played in one game with the Los Angeles Sparks. She has played 55 minutes this season, scoring 7 points with 10 rebounds. The Fever selected Berger in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2023 WNBA Draft, with a pick they acquired in a 2022 trade with Dallas. She appeared in 47 games with the Fever over two seasons, averaging 3.9 points. Berger was a four-time All-Big Ten performer, averaging 12.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists from 2018-23, including IU's 2021 Elite 8 run. She had three triple-doubles for the Hoosiers. A seven-day contract is only available to teams in the second half of the season, and it allows flexibility when they don't want to commit to a guaranteed contract. Players will earn the prorated minimum base salary. They can sign up to three seven-day contracts with a single team, but can sign with multiple teams during that time. Teams can also elect to sign those players to a rest-of-season contract at any point.

Wings make perfect last-minute addition before Valkyries game

The post Wings make perfect last-minute addition before Valkyries game appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Dallas Wings are still near the bottom of the WNBA standings. However, Paige Bueckers is coming off her first All-Star appearance and has led the team to a 4-6 record over their last ten games. She and Arike Ogunbowale will have some help hang around the roster for another week as they prepare to take on the Golden State Valkyries on Friday in Grace Berger. The Wings signed Berger to a 7-day hardship contract to give themselves some depth behind Bueckers. The guard played ten minutes against the Seattle Storm in a 92-87 win. While she did not score in her Wings debut, Dallas saw enough to give her another 7-day hardship contract, according to ClutchPoints' Joey Mistretta. The 6-foot guard was the seventh pick in the 2023 draft by the Indiana Fever. However, she was unable to find her footing after her rookie season. She played one regular season game with the Los Angeles Sparks before the Wings picked her up. After signing her newest contract, Berger is available to play as soon as Friday against the Valkyries. On a Wings squad that is so reliant on Bueckers, Berger will hopefully find a role off of their bench. If nothing else, she is a competent backup who can play alongside Ogunbowale when Bueckers sits. Dallas has been trying everything they can this season, including trying out new players on their roster. If things go well, the Wings could decide to sign Berger to a contract that runs through the rest of the season. However, the most likely outcome is that Dallas keeps her around and makes a long-term decision this offseason. Bueckers has done her best to help her team dig out of the massive hole they put themselves in. Unfortunately, the playoffs are likely out of the question. However, that does not mean that the Wings cannot figure things out in the meantime. When it comes to the future of their roster, Dallas has some big questions to answer. Wings add guard depth with signing before Aces clash

The post Wings add guard depth with signing before Aces clash appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Dallas Wings signed guard Grace Berger to a seven-day hardship contract on Wednesday. With Tyasha Harris and Maddy Siegrist out with knee injuries, Dallas qualified for a hardship contract. Berger will provide valuable depth as the Wings prepare to play the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday night. DiJonai Carrington is questionable for Wednesday's game as of this story's writing. She has missed a significant amount of time due to a rib injury. Carrington is clearly close to returning, though. It is worth mentioning that the WNBA All-Star break will begin this weekend, so Wednesday's contest is Dallas' final game of the first half of the season. As a result, the Wings may be hesitant to play Carrington. If she is ruled out, the Berger signing will be even more important for the game against the Aces. Regardless of Carrington's final status, though, adding depth is never a bad thing. Berger was selected by the Indiana Fever with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft. She spent two seasons in Indiana before signing with the Minnesota Lynx before the 2025 campaign. After two preseason games, however, the Lynx moved on from Berger. She would later land a hardship contract with the Los Angeles Sparks, playing in one game with LA. The 26-year-old is now set to receive another opportunity with Dallas. A 6'0″ guard, Berger could make an impact for the Wings. Overall, she has averaged 3.8 points, 1.6 assists and 1.5 rebounds per outing across 48 total games played in her WNBA career. Those averages have come across 13.4 minutes per outing. Berger features potential but she needs more playing time to truly establish herself in the league. As for Dallas, the Wings have battled adversity throughout the 2025 campaign. Dallas will attempt to end the first half on a positive note. Wednesday's tip-off is scheduled for 8 PM EST in Arlington, TX. Related: Is DiJonai Carrington playing vs. Aces?
