NBA YoungBoy, rapper who was convicted in Utah, receives pardon
Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, known by his stage name NBA YoungBoy, has been pardoned after his conviction in Utah. The rapper, who was living in Huntsville and owns a home in Millcreek, took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce that he had been pardoned by President Donald Trump. 'I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building — as a man, as a father and as an artist,' Gaulden wrote, in part. 'This moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I've worked hard for, and I am fully prepared to step into this.' A White House spokesperson confirmed the pardon to Gaulden's attorney, Drew Findling, told Rolling Stone that his client had been pardoned, although he hadn't filed a pardon application. Gaulden, now 25, was initially sentenced by a U.S. District Court judge in Utah to nearly two years in prison and five years of probation in December 2024, matching recommendations outlined after he pleaded guilty to unlawful transport of firearms earlier that year. The case originated in his home state of Louisiana before it was transferred to Utah. He was credited with the time he spent in jail after police arrested him in connection with a prescription fraud ring case in April 2024. Gaulden also pleaded no contest to two counts of identity fraud, two counts of forgery and six counts of unlawful pharmacy conduct, all class A misdemeanors, and was ordered to pay a $25,000 fine in November as part of a plea deal with state prosecutors. He had initially faced 46 charges in the state. His lawyer, Findling, also represented Trump in a 2022 election interference investigation in Georgia. As NBA YoungBoy, Gaulden has amassed a large following, garnering 16.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He has also been nominated for three BET Hip Hop Awards and a Grammy Award, but the Utah cases were the latest in a string of legal woes he faced in other states. Yet, family described a 'whole other side' of the rapper during his sentencing hearing, calling him a 'jokester' who had risen from poverty in Louisiana. 'I just want people to see Kentrell as a human, and there's a whole other side to these things ... he's a human, and he has a good heart,' said Kyrie Garcia, his godmother. The federal judge who sentenced Gaulden said he believed the rapper was in the process of turning his life around, adding that he was 'going to have to walk the straight and narrow' in the future. Gaulden also thanked Trump's 'pardon czar,' Alice Marie Johnson, and attorney Brittany Barnett as part of his pardon post on Wednesday. 'I'm grateful. I'm focused. I'm ready,' he added.

For BLACKPINK's Rosé, Grammy win would be 'special' but does she have plans to explore acting next?
Rosé has had a fantastic year, and it's not even June yet. The singer achieved immense success with the release of his solo album Rosie, especially the song APT, which is a collaboration with Bruno Mars, and continues to rank on global music charts. Fans expect it to receive a Grammy Award nomination, so what does the singer think of it? Rosé reveals the happiness she would feel if she won it. In an interview with DAZED Magazine, the BLACKPINK vocalist carefully spoke about being nominated and possibly winning a Grammy. Finally, finding the confidence to voice the thoughts, Rosé said, 'That would be incredible. But I think if it means more to my community, it'd be special. That's the first thing that I want, and whatever awards or celebration comes after it, that would feel extra-rewarding.' Clearly, the Recording Academy has a strong contender to think about! Will BLACKPINK member Rosé try acting? Furthermore, the singer also dished about her plans to take on acting after achieving musical chart success. She would be the fourth and final one from the quartet to tackle the art after Jisoo's debut in Snowdrop, Jennie's in The Idol, and latest by Lisa in The White Lotus Season 3. Honestly, we think it's about time she puts her skills to the test– and possibly even ace it. The star, however, has a slightly different take, and she spoke about how it would provide her anonymity in the body of a character, something she has long been seeking: 'I would love to act, because I'll get to feel what it's like to be anonymous.' All hope is not lost, Rosé fans, we could soon have another acting debut on our hands. While a Grammy win seems within reach for the singer, another big mountain stands in front of the team as the four-piece goes on a concert spree soon. The DEADLINE World Tour begins in under a month, with shows spanning Asia and North America. As per this interview, which seems to have been taken late April, the team had not begun rehearsals, however, fans are hoping the girls come prepared. With new BLACKPINK music on the way, there's a lot to look forward to!

EP headliners Kings of Leon cancel UK and European tour after 'freak accident'
Electric Picnic headliners Kings of Leon have been forced to cancel their forthcoming UK and European shows after frontman Caleb Followill injured his foot in a "freak accident". According to a statement from the band, the singer has a "serious" shattered heel injury and needed "a significant emergency surgery that will prevent him from travelling and performing". "The anticipated recovery process is expected to take 8 weeks, under strict guidance of expert orthopedic specialists. The band regrets to report that they will need to cancel all upcoming UK and European festival headline shows in June and July of this year," the Grammy Award winners said. Kings of Leon were set to kick off their European tour in Paris on June 10, and the run of 10 shows would have concluded on July 12 in Portugal. Despite being forced to cancel a slew of upcoming shows, the Use Somebody rockers are still expected to perform at Electric Picnic in Co Laois in late August. Followill took to social media soon after the band announced that they were cancelling their upcoming tour dates to confirm that he had undergone emergency surgery after suffering a "gnarly" foot injury while playing with his children. "Hello to everyone out there, especially to our European fans that are preparing to come see us this summer," Followill said in a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday. "Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that those shows will have to be cancelled due to a freak accident that happened the other day – broke my foot pretty bad, just playing with my kids, it's pretty gnarly, I'll spare [you] all the details. "But we're fortunate enough to have some great doctors here in Nashville that gave me emergency surgery, and I'm on the mend, but they've told me that I can't be on my feet or travelling or anything for the next eight weeks or so. "And that's a big bummer, man, we were so excited, we've been preparing for this tour for a long time. "We've been preparing for a lot of things, we've been in the studio recording, we have a bunch of new songs, we were going to debut a few of them on this run. "We had a lot of exciting things planned, and now we're just going to have to pivot and find a new way to continue the work that we've started. "I'm very excited when we do get to show you the stuff that we're doing, and in the meantime, we're gonna do whatever work we can while I have these limitations." Followill later showed the band's followers his leg in a cast, saying the situation was "no fun." "I know this isn't the message that anyone wants to hear and it's certainly not the message that I want to be sending," he said. "But it's gonna be alright. Everything's gonna be good and hopefully we'll see y'all soon." Kings of Leon are set to make their Electric Picnic debut this summer when they headline the Stradbally festival alongside Wicklow singer Hozier, US pop star Chappell Roan and chart-topping DJ Fatboy Slim.

Flight was already delayed 2 hours, but this unwelcome surprise made plane chaos even worse: ‘My worst nightmare'
Frustrated frequent flyers didn't quite get a fairy-tale ending. Traveling with kids can be a challenge, but for some, being stuck on a delayed flight with a kid singing Disney songs through the aircraft's intercom is torture worse than violent turbulence. 'This would send me over the edge,' spat a cynic beneath a trending clip of a little girl belting out 'How Far I'll Go' from the animated musical-adventure flick 'Moana' on a Delta plane to Orlando, Florida. Video of the skyway chaos has scored more than 1.8 million TikTok views. 3 Social media audiences were split over a little girl's mid-flight performance of a Disney song, though many found it too intrusive. Aliaksandr Marko – The viral visuals, shared by Romeu, a Brazil-based content creator, featured the tween's controversial crooning on the flight — which was delayed by two hours and then was forced to circle Orlando for two additional hours before landing. 'This is actually my worst nightmare and personal hell,' an equally unimpressed onlooker ranted, referring to the little princess's impromptu performance. 'I would cry tears of anger,' wrote another. 'Absolutely zero hate to this girl but major side-eye to her parents,' a separate naysayer said. 'Even if it were a professional singer, I do not want to be subjected to a concert without consent.' 3 'How Far I'll Go' from 2016's 'Moana' won a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. AP At 30,000 feet, folks barely want to hear you speak. Bobbi Storm, 36, a Grammy-nominated gospel singer, was nearly booted off a 2023 Delta flight when she refused to stop performing her new single — which she insisted was just her 'doing what the Lord is telling me to do.' And Taylor Swift fanatics irked a plane-full of peeved people with their rendition of the pop star's 'Bad Blood' during a Southwest Airlines flight out of Colorado that same year. Footage of the ill-fated sing-along scared up 1.7 million TikTok views from annoyed online audiences. 3 Singing on airplanes has become a controversial issue in recent years. Farknot Architect – 'I would have to ask to be put on a different plane,' one cranky commenter crowed. 'I just wanna fly, not listen to a bunch of women sing.' But when it came to the mini Moana wannabe on Romeu's Orlando flight, a handful of cyber spectators did indeed appreciate the gal's sweet sounds. 'She's actually really good!!!!' wrote an emphatic fan. 'I think it's cute considering it's a flight to Orlando,' another agreed. 'Probably full of kids anxious to get to Disney.' 'I would've sung with her,' added a supporter. 'I love Moana.'
