Thousands of Michigan spring breakers are looking forward to visiting amusement parks when they travel in the coming weeks, but some attractions won't be open. Michigan K-12 students typically head off on spring break in late March or early April, and College students are out of class even sooner. Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, Disneyland, in California, Universal Orlando, and Knott's Berry Farm in California all will have rides and various attractions closed for renovations during this year's spring rush. For spring break 2025, here's a list of attractions that are closed at popular theme parks: Temporary closures in Disney World located in Orlando, Florida include: Kali River Rapids in the Animal Kindgom Test Track at EPCOT Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros at EPCOT Test Track SIMporium at EPCOT Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the Magic Kingdom The Hall of Presidents in the Magic Kingdom Astro Orbiter in the Magic Kingdom A theme park ticket ranges $63 to $116 per day for ages 10 and up. Visitors select which theme park: Magic Kingdom park, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios or the Animal Kingdom theme park. Tickets can be purchased through Disney World's website. Discounts may be available if you are a Florida Resident. Temporary closures in Disneyland, located in Anaheim, California, include: Disneyland Monorail Disneyland Railroad "It's a Small World" theme park The Disney Gallery The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow Standard tickets range from $103 to $206 per day to explore their two parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Tickets can be purchased through Disneyland's website. Closures in Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, according to TouringPlans and Orlandoinformer: Universal Mega Movie Parade, closed until April. Universal's Holiday Parade featuring Macy's closed until November. CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular, opens on April 14. The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, closed until November. The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle, closed until November. Hogwarts Always show, unknown opening date. Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges, closed until March 16. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, permanently closed. KidZone Pizza Company permanently closed. The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle ride, unknown opening date. Pteranodon Flyers ride, unknown opening date. Closures in Universal Studios in Hollywood, California: Transformers: The Ride-3D, unknown opening date. Super Silly Fun Land Wet Zone, unknown opening date. Universal tickets range from $119 to $174 per day, depending on the number of parks you visit from among Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe and Volcano Bay park. Tickets can be purchased through Universal's website. If you plan to visit Universal in Hollywood, tickets range from $75 to $369, depending on how many days you visit. Tickets are available online. Closures in Knott's Berry Park in Buena Park, California: Balloon Race, closed until March 14. Jaguar!, closed until March 14. Linus Launcher, closed until March 21. Pig Pen's Mud Buggies, closed until March 28. Sally's Swing Along, closed until April 4. Pony Express, closed until April 18. Montezooma's Revenge, unknown opening date. Wipeout, unknown opening date. Tickets range from $70 to $244 per person, depending on what type of pass you purchase and what discounts you are eligible for. Tickets are available online. Spring break season is almost here! Depending on where you live, it might arrive early in March while others will have to wait until the middle of April. Florida's theme parks see roughly 50 million visitors throughout the year, with spring break among the most popular times. If you're planning to visit Walt Disney World in the next few months, here's a look at which attractions are being refurbished or closed for good during the Spring Break months, according to its website. The theme park will see several changes over the next few years, beginning with the construction of two new sections — one based on Pixar's "Cars" franchise and another dedicated to Disney Villains. Until then, here's what is currently closed: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: Closed until 2026 for refurbishment Astro Orbiter: Closed Jan. 13 through summer 2025 for refurbishment Hall of Presidents: Closed Jan. 20 for refurbishment and to replace the president in office Test Track: Closed until late summer 2025, reimagined by General Motors Spaceship Earth Lounge: Opening spring 2025 Gran Fiesta Tour: Reopening on March 15 after refurbishment As of February 2025, only Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy is permanently closed. Once we approach the summer months, the theme park will see more changes and closures, such as: Melrose's Ristorante Italiano: Permanently closing May 11, Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo: Permanently closing June 8 The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure: Opening summer 2025 Disney Villains Show: Opening summer 2025 It's Tough to Be a Bug: Closing March 17 Kali River Rapids: Closed for refurbishment TriceraTop Spin: Closed permanently Dino-Rama Area: Closed permanently Those upset about the extinction of DinoLand U.S.A. will still have a chance to ride the "Dinosaur" ride, set to close sometime next year to make way for the new "Tropical Americas" land.
