The Grand Egyptian Museum Will Be Officially Inaugurated On July 3
Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, expressed his immense pride in being entrusted with the responsibility of inaugurating the Grand Egyptian Museum. He stated, 'It has been 100 days since I took on this responsibility, and as the opening approaches, I feel a mix of pride and responsibility.' Ghoneim emphasized that the Grand Egyptian Museum is not just an ordinary museum but a historic building and a unique gift from Egypt to the world. He announced that the opening ceremony is scheduled for July 3, 2025, and confirmed that the organization will be entirely Egyptian-led, with the United Media Services Company ( UMS) taking full responsibility. He noted that UMS had previously achieved outstanding success in organizing the Royal Mummies Parade and the inauguration of the Avenue of Sphinxes in Luxor. He assured that this celebration would be entirely different from previous events, showcasing many accomplishments that Egyptians are proud of, whether in different regions of Egypt or perhaps even abroad. Ghoneim explained that the celebration would not be limited to a single day, saying, 'We are currently preparing multiple scenarios, and the festivities might last several days—perhaps three days, a week, or even several months. These ideas are being discussed at a high level by a committee formed by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and at an even higher level under the leadership of the Prime Minister.'
