Zyx Technology honors winners of first CAD design competition
The awards ceremony for the 1st ZyxCAD Design Competition was held on March 21 at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Hotel. Held under the theme of "Designing Tradition," the competition was co-hosted by Korean AI-based design platform Zyx Technology and its official distributor Thirautech. It invited university students to creatively reinterpret Korea's cultural heritage using ZyxCAD, a domestically developed computer-aided design (CAD) software package. From a pool of nationwide submissions, 18 winners were selected by a panel of industry experts. The Grand Prize went to Jung Myung-woo of Pusan National University for his project Korean History Experience Arcade Machine, earning 1 million won and a Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro. Additional top prizes included Excellence Awards presented to Cho Hee-woo of Chung-Ang University and Jeon Yoon-soo of Induk University, who were also awarded 1 million won. Four students received Merit Awards, and ten were recognized with Encouragement Awards. The ceremony welcomed more than 100 attendees, including students, sponsors, judges, and industry professionals. 'This competition showcased innovative ideas that reinterpret tradition in modern ways,' a Zyx Technology representative said. 'We're committed to nurturing future talent in digital design.' Meanwhile, the company recently launched ZyxCAD 2025, featuring a more user-friendly interface and enhanced 3D capabilities. It also donated 15 billion won ($10.5 million) worth of software licenses to 15 universities in Korea and overseas as part of its ongoing commitment to education and design innovation.
