13-year-old charged with attempted murder, assault
MONTROSE, Colo. (KREX) – A minor is currently behind bars after he allegedly tried to kill a 46-year-old woman.
The incident occurred around 10:39 a.m., Wednesday, in the 200 block of Howard Fork Avenue, according to the Montrose Police Department.
The male juvenile, 13, was arrested and is currently being held at Grand Mesa Youth Detention Facility, where he's awaiting arraignment for first-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault. The victim was transported to Montrose Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing. No further information related to the teenager or victim will be released at this time, the police department stated.
