Firefighters extinguish flames at Cambridge business
A man has been arrested following a fire at an abandoned building in Cambridge. One person has been arrested following a fire at a vacant building in Cambridge. Members of Cambridge Fire were called to 11 Walnut Street, near Ainslie Street South, around 10 p.m. Sunday. While the flames were put out quickly, crews remained on scene until the smoke cleared from the building. Waterloo Regional Police said no one was hurt. They did, however, confirmed one person had been arrested, but no further details were shared about any charges or the cause of the fire. A sign with the name 'Grand River Medicinal' is still displayed on the building. Police shut down the illegal cannabis dispensary on Aug. 14, 2024.
