Child star Millena Brandao, 11, dies after suffering more than a dozen cardiac arrests
Beloved child actor Millena Brandao has has tragically passed away after suddenly falling ill in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Netflix star suffered severe headaches last Wednesday and was rushed to Granjau General Hospital, where she died two days later. Millena, star of TV series Sintonia, had more than 12 cardiac arrests between Wednesday and Thursday, according to her doctor. Brandao's official cause of death is yet to be officially revealed, as her mother Thays confessed: 'The doctors still haven't said what really happened to my daughter and what killed her.' The girl experienced headaches, pain in her leg, drowsiness, loss of appetite and fainting spells since April 24. Doctors initially believed the young model had dengue fever before additional tests revealed a brain tumor. Millena made her acting debut in October 2023 on Brazilian Television System, appearing in Romeo And Juliet's Childhood and The Enchanted Cave. Thays, who also has a two-year-old daughter, questioned the care the doctors provided to her daughter. The 'dengue fever' diagnosis apparently came without any tests being conducted as the doctor simply 'told us to take her back home and give her dipyrone'. Millena had dinner at home on April 29 and then fainted in the bathroom. She was then rushed to a hospital. Thays recalled: 'She arrived unconscious in my husband's arms. Then she opened her eyes and regained consciousness.' Doctors found a '5-centimeter mass' in the child's brain. She suffered a cardiac arrest. Medics were able to resuscitate her but 'from that day on, she never woke up again'. Her mother added: 'They don't know if this mass was a tumor, a cyst, an edema, a clot because they couldn't open her head to see. 'She got worse, with two to three cardiac arrests per day. She had 13 arrests in total. She had never had that before. 'There was one day when she had seven respiratory arrests. Sometimes they gave her massages and other times they gave her shocks.'
