Man seriously assaulted and robbed in Scots town as police launch appeal
The man was walking in Dumfries in the early hours of Sunday morning when he was attacked by another man.
A man was taken to hospital after being seriously assaulted and robbed in the early morning in a Scots town.
The man was walking in Dumfries when he was approached by another man on Sunday.
The man – who was described as being around 40-years-old – seriously assaulted the 33-year-old victim and stole his personal possessions.
The victim was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The incident happened between 5am and 6.30am on Sunday on Glasgow Road near Cuckoo Bridge.
A police investigation is underway and anyone who was in the area or who has video footage is asked to come forward.
Detective Constable Grant Middlemiss said: 'Enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
