CRDA-IGBC program held to promote Net Zero goals in Andhra

VIJAYAWADA: In a key step toward achieving Andhra Pradesh's Net Zero target by 2040 and the Swarna Andhra 2047 vision, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), in collaboration with the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), held a highlevel capacity-building programme for senior officials in Vijayawada on Friday. The session, held at a city hotel, was attended by over 50 senior officials from APCRDA, including the Engineer-in-Chief, Chief Engineer (H&B), Director (Planning), Director (Environment), and heads of key departments. The training focused on IGBC's Green Building Rating Systems, aimed at integrating sustainability into future infrastructure projects in the Capital Region. Commissioner K Kanna Babu, delivering the keynote address, reiterated APCRDA's commitment to developing a sustainable Amaravati. 'Our goal is to make Amaravati a model green capital. Our upcoming head office will be a flagship Net Zero project,' he said, adding that IGBC's support is crucial in achieving the 2040 target. Amaravati's master plan earlier received IGBC's Green Cities Platinum rating at the 2018 Happy Cities Summit, making it the first capital city in India to be certified by design. Vijay Sai Meka, chairman of the IGBC Amaravati Chapter, commended APCRDA's efforts. Other key participants included Ganesh Sai Chaitanya Gali, chapter co-chair, and Kiran Kumar Paruchuri, executive vice president of NAREDCO. They also announced the upcoming Green Andhra Summit on August 7. IGBC senior counsellor Sundeep V reaffirmed the council's role as a knowledge partner in AP's green transformation.

Muscat: The Financial Services Authority (FSA) on Sunday (July 13) will commence its operations from its new premises located in the Airport Heights in the Wilayat of Seeb. "The move is a strategic step that meets the FSA's needs to enhance the efficiency of institutional performance in line with its roles and tasks in regulating the financial markets and accommodating the expansion of the services it provides under Royal Decree No. (20/2024), which established the FSA and issued its charter," the statement said. The new building features easy access to its vital location in the heart of the capital, Muscat, just minutes from Muscat International Airport. The state-of-the-art architectural design meets the FSA's needs to accommodate the growing number of employees. The building also provides a classy work environment that supports innovation within a flexible and stimulating corporate culture that enhances productivity. The building's design takes into account the visual identity and corporate culture, practical and operational aspects. The new building, with its unique architectural design, adds to the splendor of the prosperous city of Muscat and enhances its glory. The new building's design is unique in that it blends seamlessly with the surrounding geographic landscape, which ranges from highlands to lowlands. Furthermore, the building's design is environmentally friendly and complies with the Green Building Rating Systems at a rate of up to 70%. It is worth noting that the FSA was established on March 25, 2024, to regulate the financial services sector in the Sultanate of Oman as a step towards expanding and empowering the FSA to carry out its supervisory and regulatory roles, to create a sustainable financial ecosystem.
