Cumbrian children offered 10p swims in May holidays

The May school holidays will see the return of children's swimming sessions costing 10p. The discounted scheme will apply to children aged up to 16 years at five indoor pools in Cumbria from 26 to 30 May. The pools at Cockermouth Leisure Centre, Workington Leisure Centre, The Sands Centre in Carlisle, Copeland Pool and Fitness Centre and Wigton Baths, will operate the 10p rate for specific time Council said "hundreds of children" have taken advantage of the price cut every time it has run the scheme during previous school holidays.
