Jack Draper vs Alexander Bublik: Score and latest updates from French Open
Latest updates Greg Wilcox (Live Updates) 02 June 2025 5:09pm 5:09PM Draper 3-5, 7-5 Bublik* (*denotes next server) Draper is serving to stay in the second set. He displays no nerves, holding to love. Bublik will now serve for the second set. 5:06PM Draper* 2-5, 7-5 Bublik (*denotes next server) At 30-30 Bublik is under pressure but yet another huge second serve sets up a low volley that he plays with such soft hands and touch of a genius to get to 40-30. He backs that up to hold to 30. Whatever happens he has been great to watch, his level of control has been something to watch this afternoon. Draper isn't losing points, Bublik is winning them. 5:04PM Draper 2-4, 7-5 Bublik* (*denotes next server) Bublik is hitting his groundstrokes with supreme force and Draper is struggling to live with him at the moment. This is fun to watch as two more lightning bolts allows the world No 62 to break for the second time this set. The Kazakhstani is not letting up, even after losing the first set. 4:57PM Draper* 2-3, 7-5 Bublik (*denotes next server) One feature of this match so far has been the adventure of Bublik on his second serve. Another big lightning bolt on the second serve sets up a forehand volley on the run as he again holds with minimal fuss. 4:54PM Draper 2-2, 7-5 Bublik* (*denotes next server) What Draper needs is a dominant service hold. And, as luck would have it, that's what he dishes up, holding to love. 4:53PM Draper* 1-2, 7-5 Bublik (*denotes next server) Wow, Bublik is moving around the court really well and he travels around the ball before firing down a forehand winner down the line. Another bullet allows him to hold to 15. Hell of a reset there from Bublik. When he lost his second successive service game to go 1-0 down, I thought we might see him melt down mentally. Instead he produced a sensational series of points to break straight back and go 2-1 up. One interesting development: Draper is starting to find more height on his crosscourt forehand, which I reckon will make life difficult for Bublik in the long run, even if he stayed on track there. 4:50PM Draper 1-1, 7-5 Bublik* (*denotes next server) Draper is under huge pressure at 0-40 down. Bublik isn't going down with a whimper and he does indeed get the vital break knows he's in a battle here. 4:46PM Draper* 1-0 7-5 Bublik (*denotes next server) Draper has two break points in this first game of the second set. He needs both of them but having played percentages in the first set the Briton will now look to stamp his authority on this match against the talented Bublik, who is now muttering to himself. 4:45PM Bublik down but played brilliantly Super set from Draper in terms of his mental resilience. Bublik has just turned in some remarkable statistics – 21 winners and just 11 unforced errors, according to the markers – and he hasn't even brought up a break point. Draper settled for playing the percentages and did so brilliantly. 4:42PM DRAPER WINS FIRST SET: Draper 7-5 Bublik* (*denotes next server) Bublik doesn't let that break distract him as he fires in a brilliant backhand winner cross court to get this game to 15-15. He then bullies Draper into the corner before another winner gets him to 15-30. The Briton is now under pressure on his serve. But he shows nerves of steel to hold to 30. That was a big hold, earning him the first set, one in which Bublik was constantly a threat.

Live Leicester City vs Newcastle United: Lineups and latest updates from the Premier League
Latest updates Greg Wilcox 07 April 2025 6:52pm 6:51PM Here be Newcastle's XI Unchanged. 👊 — Newcastle United (@NUFC) April 7, 2025 6:50PM Here's how the hosts line up Our XI on Filbert Way 🔷 #LEINEW — Leicester City (@LCFC) April 7, 2025 5:07PM Newcastle in search of top-four boost Anyone get the feeling this season is all but over? Virtually guaranteed the title, Liverpool already look as though they're in end-of-term mode, as their defending and defeat at Fulham possibly indicates. Southampton are definitely down and, barring miracles of the sort that don't even happen in barely believable Hollywood films, so are Leicester and Ipswich. Which leaves us the battle for the Champions League spots – and considering Man City's seemingly half-hearted approach to yesterday's Manchester derby, even they're not overly bothered by that little race. All in all, the sense of anti-climax to the season is as all-pervading as the blue skies that currently bathe the country. Which, brings us to tonight's match: Leicester vs Newcastle. I am not going to lie, it's a hard sell. But finding my inner-estate agent here's why it matters. (i) Newcastle, still basking in the warm glow of the Carabao Cup win (I think the open-top bus parade has now concluded...) need to focus their attention on finishing in the top four. Leicester are on a seven-match losing streak and three points for Eddie Howe's side will take them level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea with a game in hand. Also, anything but a win and a boost to the goal difference will, likely, be deemed a failure. (ii) Ruud van Nistelrooy did enough at PSV to suggest he might have a future as a manager. These past few months in the East Midlands have destroyed all that embryonic hope. Seven defeats on the trot, without scoring in any of them, is enough to hurt the standing of any coach. For one at the start of his career, it could prove fatal. These end-of-season matches still matter to the Van Nistelrooys, Leicester are down, but he is, not yet at least, out. (iii) This one might be stretching it a bit, I'll admit, but this is the stage of the season when, with the temperatures rising and shackles off (yes, I am looking at you Mr Van Nistelrooy...) you get the odd bizarrely entertaining match and quirky result...
