Greystanes High School teacher Jenny Naiker tragically dies
A western Sydney high school has been rocked by the shock death of a much-loved teacher.
Greystanes High School science teacher Jenny Naiker passed away following a short illness, principal Grant Sparke announced on Thursday.
She had worked at the school for at least seven years.
'Forever an optimist, Ms Naiker exuded a genuine warmth and vitality for life,' Mr Sparke said.
'A caring and committed teacher, colleague and friend, Ms Naiker was well loved and respected across the school community.
'Our thoughts are with her family at this time.'
The news sparked an outpouring of tributes.
'Rest in peace Ms Naiker, you were always one of my favourite teachers,' a former student wrote.
Another wrote: 'Ms Naiker always knew how to have a good laugh with us all.'
A third wrote: 'Horrible news, I remember fondly my time in Ms Naiker's class, she was such a fun but determined teacher who genuinely cared about the students.'
Parents also paid tribute.
'My interactions with Jenny were always lovely. Condolences to her family, friends and fellow colleagues,' one wrote.
Another added: 'My son had Ms Naiker as a teacher and we are all saddened by this news.'
