Yellowstone favourite takes on totally different role in 'best film of the year' out soon
A Yellowstone actor is set to show a very different side to himself in a new film that's been called one of the best of 2025 Yellowstone star Luke Grimes is a million miles from his beloved character Kayce Dutton in a critically acclaimed new film arriving in cinemas this week. Having already launched in the United States last month, Ari Aster's Eddington is finally making its way to UK screens this Friday, 22nd August. The black comedy thriller unfolds during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic in a small New Mexico town, delving into the bitter rivalry between Sheriff Joe Cross (portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix) and Mayor Ted Garcia (Pedro Pascal) as they clash in a heated mayoral race. Their political warfare sparks chaos throughout their community, compelling officers like Grimes' character Guy Tooley to intervene. Whilst the Yellowstone actor has previously tackled law enforcement roles in the Paramount Network's hugely successful contemporary Western drama, Grimes adopts a far more lighthearted approach for this latest offering from celebrated Midsommar filmmaker Ari Aster, reports the Mirror. Esquire branded Grimes' portrayal as the complete "opposite" of what audiences have grown accustomed to from him during their chat with the screen star. "He's a guy who clearly is just afraid and trying to point the finger anywhere," the performer explained regarding his role. "It didn't read that way in the script, originally, but we worked on it, and he became more of a bumbling fool than a hateful person. "That was our way into it - just a guy trying to figure it all out and failing miserably." Whilst the film has sparked a mixed reaction thus far, numerous cinema enthusiasts and reviewers have hailed Eddington as amongst 2025's finest offerings and absolutely deserving of a viewing once it reaches UK shores. One five-star Google review declared: "This movie delivers on its promise to bring you back in time to the pandemic and make you feel those same feelings of isolation, hypocrisy and helplessness. "This is one of the best of the year thus far and one I will remember fondly. Thank you to the cast, crew, and writers for delivering us with a quality film like this. I hope to see more like it." Beyond the cinema, Grimes is confirmed to return as Kayce in the forthcoming Yellowstone spin-off, Y: Marshals, scheduled to debut in late 2025 or early 2026 on CBS. Dropping hints about the new series, he revealed: "There are going to be some familiar faces, but we're not shooting here in Montana. "Everything else is going to feel like a different world." Will you be catching Eddington this weekend or are you holding out for the Yellowstone star's comeback to television? Eddington is in UK cinemas from Friday, 22nd August. Yellowstone is available to stream on Paramount+.

One of Luke Grimes' first roles after achieving worldwide fame on Yellowstone is hitting UK cinemas this week Yellowstone star Luke Grimes is worlds away from his most well-known character Kayce Dutton in a critically acclaimed new film hitting screens this week. Already released in the United States last month, Ari Aster's Eddington is finally coming to the big screen in the UK this Friday, 22nd August. Set during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic in a small town in New Mexico, the black comedy thriller explores the feud between Sheriff Joe Cross (played by Joaquin Phoenix) and Mayor Ted Garcia (Pedro Pascal) when they go head-to-head in a turbulent mayoral election. Wisconsin football 2025 player preview: Quarterback Billy Edwards Jr.
Wisconsin enters the 2025 season looking for consistent play at quarterback. That all starts with transfer Billy Edwards Jr. Edwards started all of last season for the Maryland Terrapins, throwing for 2,881 yards, 15 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and completing 65% of his passes. The veteran brings a level of Big Ten starting experience that neither 2023 transfer Tyler Van Dyke nor 2022 transfer Tanner Mordecai had when they arrived in Madison, which is a reason to be optimistic about the Badgers' offense this fall. How well Edwards performs this fall will depend on the level at which he fits into new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes' system, which is run-heavy and has a clear emphasis on short passes to receivers, tight ends, and running backs. Grimes' system should fit Edwards' play style well, as the signal-caller is known for extending plays with his legs. During his three seasons in College Park, Edwards ran for over 370 yards and scored 13 touchdowns on the ground. While he might not have ran for a high number of yards, Edwards has still proven himself both as a threat to scramble to keep the play alive, as well as a red zone running threat. The nice thing about Grimes' system is that the offense's success will not be completely reliant on Edwards' performance. The biggest issue surrounding Phil Longo's air-raid attack was that after injuries to starters Mordecai and Van Dyke in 2023 and 2024, respectively, the team lacked the talent at quarterback to successfully run the system. Now with Grimes as offensive coordinator, Wisconsin's offensive success will be determined by the play of the offensive line, which will help create holes for both running backs and receivers. Edwards struggled at the end of last season due to an injury to his throwing hand. That is a primary reason why he enters 2025 with less hype than the past two Wisconsin transfers had. While the veteran isn't the flashiest player in the Big Ten, he should bring a level of consistency that the Badgers have lacked during the first two seasons of Luke Fickell's tenure in Madison. If he can stay healthy, he should be an immense upgrade at the position. Elon Musk's ex-girlfriend and mother of his three children calls social media 'Poison', says: OK, I've basically been entirely off ...
Represenatative Image In a scathing reflection, Claire Boucher , known as Grimes and Elon Musk's former partner, described social media as 'a poison - a prison of utterly short form deep sounding nonsense.' Her words cut through the digital noise, exposing the hollow core of platforms that dominate modern life. Grimes' critique, born from stepping away and returning to the online world, reveals a troubling truth: social media often masquerades as meaningful connection while delivering little more than fleeting, superficial distractions. Her words, raw and unfiltered, cut through the glossy veneer of platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, exposing a troubling reality about the digital age. Elon Musk and Grimes have been blessed with three children throughout the course of their on-and-off relationship. According to Tesla CEO and singer Grimes were first linked in 2018, and welcomed their first child, son X Æ A-Xii, two years later in May 2020. The former couple went on to quietly have two more children, including daughter Exa Dark Sideræl via surrogate in December 2021, and son Techno Mechanicus in June 2022. Grimes trashes social media as 'poison' Grimes' observation that social media is a 'theatre' and a 'shitty pale simulacra of a life' resonates in an era where curated posts and viral soundbites shape perceptions. The platforms thrive on brevity—140 characters, 15-second videos, or pithy quotes—designed to hook attention but rarely sustain deeper understanding. This 'short form deep sounding nonsense' mimics profundity, offering dopamine hits without substance. Users scroll through an endless feed, mistaking consumption for learning, only to discard most of it moments later. The brain, overwhelmed, craves more, trapping users in a cycle of distraction. The 'poison' Grimes describes lies in how these platforms distort reality. Social media amplifies performative personas, where authenticity is sacrificed for likes and followers. It's a prison of comparison, where curated lives fuel insecurity and polarization. Grimes' critique also hints at a deeper loss: Genuine human connection. Social media, meant to unite, often isolates, replacing real-world interactions with a 'simulacra' of community. Studies, like those from Pew Research (2023), show social media use correlates with increased anxiety and reduced attention spans, validating her point. Yet, billions remain tethered, unable to break free from the algorithm's grip. Stepping back, as Grimes did, reveals the theater for what it is -- a stage of fleeting illusions. Breaking free requires recognizing the poison and choosing a life less scripted, more real.
