Law & Order: SVU Season 27: Everything We Know So Far

Law & Order: SVU Season 26 is DUN-DUN, so you know what that means: It's time to look toward the next season of NBC's long-running procedural! More from TVLine Grosse Pointe Garden Society Plants Seeds for Possible Season 2 as Fate Remains TBD - Read Recap Law & Order: SVU Finale Recap: Some Surprising News Has Major Impact on a Member of Liv's Team - Grade It! SVU's season finale didn't offer much in the way of cliffhangers or hints at what will go down at the precinct in the near future. Capt. Benson and her team investigated a case involving therapists and a man who wanted to rape and kill them, gouging out their eyes in the process. (Yes, it was as gross as it sounds.) Meanwhile, Velasco got promoted to detective second grade, an achievement that his co-workers celebrated both at a bar and at the New York Police Department's official ceremony. (Read a full recap here.) The Peacock net renewed SVU in May, albeit with a bunch of casting and behind-the-scenes changes. So who'll be around when the squad returns for Season 27? And when can we expect that return to happen? Read on for everything we know so far about Benson & Co.'s next chapter. We'll update this post with information about the new season as soon as it becomes available, so make sure to come back often. Mariska Hargitay (Capt. Olivia Benson), Ice-T (Sgt. Odafin Tutuola), Kevin Kane (Det. Terry Bruno) and Peter Scanavino (Assistant District Attorney Dominick 'Sonny' Carisi) will be back as series regulars next season. However, Octavio Pisano (Det. Joe Velasco) and Juliana Aidén Martinez (Det. Kate Silva) will not return for Season 27. Pisano had been part of the cast since Season 23, and Martinez joined ahead of Season 26. Neither Velasco nor Silva was written out of the story in the Season 26 finale; in fact, Velasco was promoted to detective second grade at the end of the hour. (Read a full recap.) No new cast members have been announced yet, but Kelli Giddish, who plays Sgt. Amanda Rollins, will once more be a series regular in the coming season. Giddish joined SVU at the start of Season 13 and left in Season 24, but recurred as Rollins in Seasons 25 and 26. Hargitay has been a vocal supporter of Giddish's full-time return. The relationship between Hargitay's Benson and Rollins 'was one of the most powerful relationships in television, because you saw these two badass women, so flawed and so there for each other,' Hargitay said in a 2024 interview. Behind the scenes, Michele Fazekas (Gen V) will take over as showrunner, the role held by David Graziano in Seasons 24-26. The move marks a return to SVU for Fazekas, who — along with former writing partner Tara Butters — was a writer/producer on the show in Seasons 4 through 7. Additionally, writer/executive producer Julie Martin and EP Norberto Barba will not return in those capacities in Season 27, though Barba will stay on as a director, our sister site Deadline reports. Law & Order: SVU Season 27 will be released in fall 2025, but NBC has not yet announced an exact premiere date. We'll update this post with that information as soon as it becomes available. NBC hasn't yet announced how many episodes will be in Season 27. For context, most of the show's regular seasons (aka not affected by pandemics or strikes) have consisted of roughly 22 episodes. There is not yet a trailer for the new season, but we'll be sure to post it here when there is. Law & Order: SVU Season 26 is streaming on Peacock, as are all previous seasons of the procedural. Grosse Pointe Garden Society – Episode 13 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

Bad Seeds Episode 13 of Grosse Pointe Garden Society begins this finale with Patty speaking to Marilyn and demanding the quilt back. Patty has something she's been blackmailing her with, and later on in the episode, we find out exactly what that is. For now, Marilyn calls on Alice to help find it. She's got Dana with her and they're cross-referencing all the guests at the Garden Society, alongside Dana's apparent psychic ability of figuring out lies, which could undo everything. It doesn't though, thankfully. We do get confirmation here that Marilyn killed Alice's dog though, given Alice finds an old blankie in the cupboard, the exact one belonging to her dog. We'll circle back to this shortly! What does Melissa do? Melissa shows up to see Brett over at Alice's place, where things take an awkward turn fast. She's got papers and is trying to file for full custody of the kids. Next, Melissa files for divorce from Connor, believing they're very different people now compared to when they first got together. Connor eventually ends up berating Brett at the bar, as they both discuss how Melissa has treated them both. Naturally, Mel always chased the wrong things and eventually messed them both over. However, Connor is quick to point out that the thing Mel has been chasing the most – is Brett. What's Catherine's big idea? While this is happening, Joel continues to sow the seeds of Keith's 'journey' at the station, intending to help Birdie cover everything up. However, there's still the matter of Catherine's bracelet to contend with. The eye-witnesses over at the gas station can't just be ignored, especially the references to a red dress that Birdie was wearing. One of the officers at the station is starting to get suspicious, until Joel warns him off from this line of enquiry. Catherine though is still wrestling what she and the others have done with Keith and it's eating her up inside. Tucker tries to calm her down and reassures his wife that she just needs to go about her day like normal. Catherine then has the bright idea of recycling Keith's body and turning him into compost. What happens with the PI? That night, the group start digging in the ground to pick out Keith's body. However, all they find is a shoe and the actual body is gone. That's because it's with Connor's former PI. The goon confronts them and blackmails the four for money. In the morning, the group meet with Connor's PI's at the Society but they try to pull a fast one and scam him. It doesn't work though but he suddenly topples over, holding his heart as he has a heart attack. The four decide to take the man to the hospital, rather than burying him. How did Alice's dog die? Alice eventually confronts Marilyn about the blanket and she reveals why it was in her possession. Seven months earlier, her cat never showed for dinner, as it was having a fight with a dog outside. Marilyn, in her blind panic, shot her handgun blindly into the garden and wound up killing Alice's dog. The only person she could think of to call was Patty, and through the power of manipulation, the pair covered it all up. This has been eating Marilyn up for months and she apologizes profusely to her. Alice forgives her and explains that she's no better than she is. She doesn't tell her about Keith but does utter that the quilt is just 'gone'. What happens to Alice? Alice rings Brett at the courthouse and explains that she thinks there could be something more between them. However, she's at the police station when she says this, deciding to give her statement to the officers. However, Joel gets involved and seemingly stops her from speaking the truth. This is the last we see of Alice this season though so it's presumed that she either confessed to her part in this and is behind bars, or she's been free to go and is keeping herself separate from the others. Does Brett get justice? Brett doesn't receive Alice's voicemail until later on though, as he shows up at the courthouse as requested. He speaks to Mel beforehand, telling her she should probably file for parental rights for the right reason, not weaponizing their children against him. All of this feeds into what Connor said earlier, given it seems she's punishing him for not getting back with her. Brett's words work though, and he convinces her to relinquish her grip on the kids. How does season 1 end? Doug returns from his trip and speaks to Patty. It suddenly strikes her that Keith isn't up at the cabin and it rings alarm bells. However, there's also the gas station clerk, who recognizes Catherine while she's at a bus stop, and Connor's PI goon, who wakes up in hospital. All of these loose threads are left unresolved for now. Through all of this, Birdie, Catherine and Brett decide to compost the body. Then, we cut forward to 'next season' and see the trio holding someone captive, wearing a bird costume. The Episode Review So after 13 episodes, numerous mysteries dragged out and an accident disguised as a murder all this time, Grosse Pointe Garden Society goes one step further and decides to give us a fake-out ending where nothing is resolved. Numerous threads are left dangling, with the implication being that this will spur on the public to help bring a second season to clear up some of the issues. The trouble is, it also cheapens the entire series which started out so promising and then just faded away toward the end. The numerous mysteries and possible killers eventually ends with the most underwhelming conclusion, which is such a shame for a show that I'd been praising in the first couple of weeks as one of the must-watch mysteries on TV. Ultimately, Grosse Pointe Garden Society bows out with a whimper rather than a roar, bringing an end to this series. Previous Episode Expect A Full Season Write-Up When This Season Concludes!

Grosse Pointe Garden Society Plants Seeds for Possible Season 2 as Fate Remains TBD — Read Recap

Did a bad seed just spoil the bunch on Grosse Pointe Garden Society? The NBC dramedy — which has yet to be renewed for a Season 2 — wrapped its freshman run on Friday with a twist: One of our gardeners has committed a surprising act of betrayal. More from TVLine Shark Tank Says an Emotional Goodbye to Mark Cuban - Will You Still Watch Without Him? The Chi Season 7 Premiere: Alicia Kills [Spoiler] in Vengeful Attack - But Did She Get the Right Man? Plus, Grade It! TVLine Asks: Would The Handmaid's Tale Weaponized Wedding Cake Have Worked on You? Early in the finale, Alice learns the truth about her dog's death (for real this time). It turns out, her mother-in-law Patty isn't responsible for the murder, as we previously thought in Episode 11. The dog killer is actually Marilyn, the garden club's president. And, like the other Grosse Pointe death, it wasn't totally on purpose. Marilyn had found her cat being attacked by another animal in the dark and shot her gun in the direction of the threat, accidentally killing Alice's furry friend. And once Alice learns the full truth, she gets a guilty conscience about all that has happened. She calls Brett, admitting there might be feelings between them, and then she does something that could change the course of the series: She heads to the police station. She says she's done something they should know about, and prepares to give a statement. As she sits down to presumably confess about her father-in-law's demise, Joel tries, but fails, to interrupt her. Meanwhile, the rest of the group finds Keith's body — which had been moved by Kenny — and relocates his corpse to the compost bin in the garden. The episode ends with one final time jump, and this time, a carved pumpkin signals the shift, reading: 'Next Season.' We see our three faithful gardeners — Birdie, Brett and Catherine — chastising someone for breaking their trust. The person's identity is concealed by a costume, but it seems like it's probably Alice. Then again, we didn't predict Quiche would be Keith, so the series could throw a curveball. After all, we don't know exactly what happened with Alice at the police station, and we aren't sure if 'that tweaker gas station guy' has said anything more about the night of the gala and that stolen bracelet. Is it actually Kenny? Could it be Joel? Gas station guy? It's anybody's guess! Did the finale successfully plant a seed for a second season? The Hunting Party Among 2 Renewals at NBC

Two freshman dramas, The Hunting Party and Brilliant Minds, emerged unscathed from NBC's Friday bloodbath and instead have been renewed for second seasons. Season 1 of The Hunting Party averaged 4.2 million total viewers (with delayed playback). Out of the 11 dramas that NBC has aired this TV season, it ranks No. 8 (outdrawing the cancelled Found and Suits LA, and the theoretically on-the-'bubble' Grosse Pointe Garden Society). Beyond the Gates Renewed for Season 2 at CBS With 4.9 million total viewers, Brilliant Minds ranks sixth among NBC's 11 dramas, trailing the #OneChicago trifecta and the two Law & Order shows. Hunting Party stars Manifest alum Melissa Roxburgh as Rebecca 'Bex' Henderson, an ex-FBI agent leading a small team of investigators on the hunt for inmates who escaped from a top-secret prison (aka The Pit) after a mysterious explosion. The cast also includes Nick Wechsler (Revenge) as Oliver Odell, Bex's former partner and The Pit's onetime warden; Josh Mackenzie (La Brea) as Shane Florence, a former soldier and Pit prison guard; Sara Garcia (The Flash) as Jennifer Morales, an intel officer and major in the Army; and Patrick Sabongui (The Flash) as CIA agent Ryan Hassani. TVLine readers gave Season 1 an average grade of 'A-.' Brilliant Minds, based on the life of neurologist/author Oliver Sacks, stars Zachary Quinto as Oliver, a neurologist at Bronx General Hospital whose atypical approach to medicine irks his superiors but often garners surprising results. The show's freshman run ended with a bombshell: While Oliver had thought his father, Noah, died when Oliver was a child, it turned out he did not. When Noah (played by Mandy Patinkin) re-entered his son's life, he added to the shock by announcing he was ill and asking Oliver for help with treatment. (Read a finale post-mortem interview with executive producers Michael Grassi and DeMane Davis.) The Brilliant Minds cast also includes Tamberla Perry, Donna Murphy, Teddy Sears, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs and Spence Moore II.
