Dead dolphin sparks 'avoid area' warning on Guernsey beach
People have been urged to avoid a Guernsey bay after a dead dolphin was Police said the animal had been discovered near the groynes sea defences in the Grande Mare side of Vazon Bay.A post on the force's Facebook page said the Joint Emergency Services Control Centre and GSPCA had been notified and were monitoring the situation, along with Agriculture, Countryside and Land Management Services (ACLMS) said the advice was to "stay away" from the animal and area and to not touch the dead dolphin. "The preferred option by ACLMS is to allow natural decomposer and return to the ecosystem but, ultimately, the decision will be made by ACLMS if recovery is required," a police spokesperson added. GSPCA bosses issued a similar warning in a post on the charity's Facebook post said: "We are aware of a dolphin sadly washed up on the shores of Vazon beach. The States are aware."In the meantime, please could we advise people/children to avoid the area."

Guernsey AI scam targets islanders with fake Chief Minister posts

Police added people should be wary of "articles that promote too-good-to-be-true investments or prizes".Deepfake scams have become more common in recent years as AI technology improves, with faked images of high-profile figures such as financial journalist Martin Lewis and London mayor Sadiq Khan used by people online to trick Police warned people to think twice before clicking links, entering personal details or providing bank who suspects they may have been the victim of online fraud should contact their bank immediately, a police spokesperson added.

Senior politician arrested by Guernsey Police
Former Guernsey Chief Minister Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq has been arrested on suspicion of telecommunications offences. In a statement, Guernsey Police said a 61-year-old man had been arrested. The politician, who leads on external relations for the Policy and Resources Committee, has been released by police without being charged. Police said inquiries were ongoing and officers would "not provide further commentary while the investigation continues". Le Tocq has been contacted for a comment. "The committee will not be commenting further at this time." In an e-mail to all States members seen by the BBC, President of Policy and Resources Lindsay de Sausmarez urged deputies "not to speculate". Guernsey Police are appealing to the public for information after a young boy was seen in a "distressed state". Police said witnesses saw the boy near the Co-operative store at Les Camps at about 16:30 BST. Witnesses reported that the child, described as a black male aged about 10 to 11 years old, ran into the road and was nearly struck by a vehicle. He was last seen fleeing the area before officers arrived on the scene. The boy is described as relatively tall for his age, with a black afro hairstyle, and was wearing a brown T-shirt and brown shorts at the time of the incident. Guernsey Police said they were keen to locate the child to ensure his safety and wellbeing.
