Saudi Arabia's King Salman Orders Hosting of 1,000 Palestinian Pilgrims for Hajj 1446 AH
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has issued a royal directive to host 1,000 Palestinian pilgrims — including families of martyrs, prisoners, and the wounded — to perform Hajj this year (1446 AH) at his personal expense.
The initiative falls under the "Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit," which is supervised and implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, confirmed that the ministry immediately began developing a comprehensive executive plan to ensure smooth arrangements and services for the pilgrims. These include facilitating their travel from Palestine, providing full support during their stay in Makkah and Madinah, and ensuring a seamless return after the completion of Hajj rituals.
Speaking to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr. Al-Sheikh emphasized the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, particularly those who have endured hardship and loss.
He also noted that since the program's inception in 1417 AH, it has hosted over 64,000 pilgrims from various countries, reflecting Saudi Arabia's broader efforts to strengthen Islamic unity and extend humanitarian support to those in need.
