Gulki Joshi recalls how she was nearly molested while presenting an award to MS Dhoni; says ‘Was mobbed to the level of being scared'

1 2 Gulki Joshi , who is loved for her portrayal of cop Haseena Malik in Maddam Sir , recently shared a troubling experience from her past. The actress revealed how she narrowly escaped an incident of molestation during an event where she was supposed to present an award to cricket legend MS Dhoni . Recalling the incident, Gulki told Filmymantra, "This happened a long time ago. I had gone to Ranchi for the IPL, I had to present an award to Mr. Dhoni. At that time, my show Nadaan Parinde (2014) was running successfully, and because of the show's popularity, I was invited to attend the event." She further revealed the ordeal and how she got saved just in time by the security personnel, "As soon as I stepped outside, I was completely mobbed by a crowd. Mobbed to the level of being scared. It wasn't just excitement, it became physically overwhelming to the point where I genuinely felt threatened. Amid the pushing, shoving, and chaos, the horrifying thought crossed my mind that I could be molested right there in the crowd. Thankfully, security personnel intervened at the right moment. Just as things were spiraling out of control, the security team arrived and somehow managed to pull me out of the mob. They whisked me away to safety. But the fear lingered. It shook me. That was the only time I've ever truly been afraid of the crowd, of the people." Although the incident was distressing, Gulki still cherishes her experience at the event. She spoke fondly and with great respect about her interaction with cricket icon MS Dhoni. "When I met Mr. Dhoni, he was everything you'd hope a hero to be — humble, warm, and grounded. Even though he must have been exhausted after the match, he patiently met every fan, smiled, took pictures, and made everyone feel special. At that moment, I realised what true talent is. No arrogance, no drama — just pure, unfiltered humility. It really stayed with me. It reminded me that real talent shines the brightest when it's combined with real humility." Gulki Joshi Reveals She Was Nearly Molested While Presenting Award To MS Dhoni: 'Security Saved Me'

Television actress Gulki Joshi talks about a terrifying mobbing incident, revealing how she feared being molested after presenting an award to MS Dhoni during an IPL event. Television actress Gulki Joshi, widely beloved for her portrayal of the witty and courageous Haseena Malik in Maddam Sir, recently shared a deeply unsettling memory from her past — one that highlights the dangers celebrities often face when public adoration turns into uncontrollable frenzy. In an interview with Filmymantra, Gulki revisited a particularly frightening incident that took place several years ago during a visit to Ranchi. 'This happened a long time ago. I had gone to Ranchi for the IPL — I had to present an award to Mr. Dhoni. At that time, my show Nadaan Parinde (2014) was running successfully, and because of the show's popularity, I was invited to attend the event," she recalled. What was supposed to be a celebratory outing quickly descended into chaos. 'As soon as I stepped outside, I was completely mobbed by a crowd. It wasn't just excitement — it became physically overwhelming to the point where I genuinely felt threatened. Amid the pushing, shoving, and chaos, the horrifying thought crossed my mind that I could be molested right there in the crowd," she said. Thankfully, security personnel intervened at the right moment. 'Just as things were spiraling out of control, the security team arrived and somehow managed to pull me out of the mob. They whisked me away to safety. But the fear lingered. It shook me. That was the only time I've ever truly been afraid of the crowd, of the people," Gulki shared with palpable emotion. Despite the traumatic encounter, Gulki's experience at the event wasn't entirely grim. She recounted her meeting with cricketing legend MS Dhoni with visible warmth and admiration. 'When I finally met Mr. Dhoni, he was everything you'd hope a hero to be — humble, warm, and grounded. Even though he must have been exhausted after the match, he patiently met every fan, smiled, took pictures, and made everyone feel special," Gulki said. She added thoughtfully, 'In that moment, I realized what true greatness is. No arrogance, no drama — just pure, unfiltered humility. It really stayed with me. It reminded me that real talent shines the brightest when it's combined with real humility." Talking about the darker side of fame, Gulki noted, 'While recognition feels rewarding, incidents like what happened in Ranchi make you realize how important security and boundaries are. Crowds don't always realize the impact of their actions — a mob mentality can strip away personal safety in seconds." On the work front, Gulki Joshi continues to carve a strong niche for herself. She was recently seen in the bold and intimate anthology series Hasratein 2, where she explored a very different, layered side of storytelling. The series boasts an ensemble cast including Dolly Chawla, Sanam Johar, Vivek Dahiya, Vinit Kakar, Amika Shail, Saisha Sehgal, Zuber K. Khan, Karan Sharma, Nyrraa M Banerji, Param Singh, Puja Banerjee, Sandeep Kumaar, Akanksha Puri, Rishaab Chauhaan, and Navveen Sharrma. First Published:

Gulki Joshi On Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 Cancellation: ‘I Really Hope It Doesn't Get Scrapped'

Gulki Joshi revealed that the makers of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 had reached out to her just once to gauge her interest in participating. Khatron Ke Khiladi, the adventure-based reality show hosted by Rohit Shetty, will reportedly not be returning for a new season. Speculation about the show's cancellation began circulating online after production house Banijay Asia reportedly decided to step away from the project. Amid these developments, actress Gulki Joshi, best known for her role in the comedy-drama Maddam Sir, voiced her concern during an interview, expressing disappointment over the reports. Speaking to ETimesTV, Gulki Joshi revealed that the makers of Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 had reached out to her just once to gauge her interest in participating. She said, 'I was really interested, and they only contacted once, just to ask me whether I was interested or not. After that, there was no more interaction, but I had only been seeing the news, so I was unsure whether it was true or a rumour, and whether I was doing the show or not. As I just had one conversation with them, there has been no update." Furthermore, Gulki Joshi also explained why she chose to remain silent amid reports of her participation in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15. She said, 'Maybe that is why they haven't responded to me—because of all these uncertainties. I really hope it doesn't get scrapped, and I'm extremely excited to participate in it. I had been eagerly waiting for it, which is why I didn't confirm or react to the news earlier." Speaking about Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, News18 has recently learned that the show might not take place, with advanced discussions underway regarding its cancellation. A source close to the show revealed that several factors are contributing to this decision. The channel, Colors TV, reportedly wanted to shift the show's traditional May slot to later in the year, but the production house was not in favour of this change. Additionally, securing suitable dates from host Rohit Shetty, whose schedule is packed, has proven difficult. As a result, the upcoming season is likely to be scrapped. Apart from Gulki, other contestants who were rumoured to be participating in KKK 15 include Erica Fernandes, Surbhi Jyoti, Digivijay Singh, Mallika Sherawat, Elvish Yadav, Baseer Ali, Chum Darang, Siddharth Nigam and others. I am not that keen on doing the stunts with insects but karne pe aaya toh kar dungi, I am very competitive that way. But I really love the air-lifting and balancing ones. I completely forgot about water-stunts. When it comes to Khatron I think I like all the stunts except the insects ones. If I participate in the show, I would be the only overexcited baby over there."
