Some suburban trains cancelled in Chennai
CHENNAI: Commuters on the Chennai Central–Gummidipundi suburban route are likely to face delays and limited service options on June 14, 16 and 19 with several EMU and MEMU trains being fully or partially cancelled due to engineering work between Kavaraipettai and Gummidipundi.

The four-hour line and signal block, scheduled from 11.20 am to 3.20 pm, is part of safety upgrade works on the Chennai Central–Gudur section.
As a result, over a dozen key local services connecting Chennai Beach, Moore Market Complex, Gummidipundi, Sullurupeta, Nellore and Avadi will not run on these days.
Officegoers and daily passengers depending on mid-morning and afternoon trains from Chennai to northern suburbs and Andhra border towns are likely to be most affected.
Train services between Moore Market Complex and Sullurupeta, including those scheduled at 10.15 am, 12.10 pm and 1.05 pm, will remain cancelled.
Several Gummidipundi-bound trains from both Moore Market Complex and Chennai Beach during this window are also cancelled, along with key return services in the afternoon, including those scheduled from Gummidipundi at 10.55 am, 1 pm, 2.30 pm and 3.15 pm.
The Sullurupeta–Moore Market Complex services departing at 1.15 pm, 3.10 pm and 9 pm will also not operate.
Two long-running services—Chengalpet to Gummidipundi (9:55 am) and Gummidipundi to Tambaram (3 pm)—will be partially cancelled between Gummidipundi and Chennai Beach.
To ease the inconvenience,
will operate six special passenger trains connecting Moore Market Complex, Minjur, Ponneri and Chennai Beach. These include trains from Moore Market Complex to Ponneri (10.30 am), Minjur (11.35 am), and Chennai Beach to Ponneri (12.40 pm), with return services from Ponneri and Minjur running in the afternoon.
Commuters are advised to check updated timings and make alternate arrangements if they rely on mid-day suburban services on these days.
