Purandara Dasa tribute in city today
Pune: The Poona Sangeetha Sabha will present the fifth edition of its Guru-Shishya Sammelanam series on Saturday at Ganesh Hall, New English School, Tilak Road.
The event is a tribute to Purandara Dasa and will begin with group renditions followed by student renditions culminating in a performance by the teachers' group.
A skit directed by Latha Venkitakrishnan will be staged.
The chief guest is Indira Salian, vice-president of Kannada Sangha. Performing teachers include Priya Purushothamam, Dhairini Ganesh, Nandini Rao and Sailaja Ramayanam. Accompanying artists are S Srikrishnan (mridangam) and Vignesh Iyer (kanjira) and Ajay Chandramouli (violin).
