Rain in cemetery echoes mother's grief for son

Compiled by C. ARUNO, FAZLEENA AZIZ and R. ARAVINTHAN IT was a heart-rending sight – a middle-aged woman, sitting near the grave of her late son amid a drizzle. Sinar Harian reported that Rosidah Ibrahim, 53, frequently made the journey from Terengganu to Kedah to visit the final resting place of her son, who passed away six months ago from pneumonia. Her daughter-in-law Nurul Nabilah Rizal, 32, said Rosidah's presence at the grave is proof of a mother's enduring love. She said her wish now is to raise their six-year-old son properly and to ensure that he maintains close ties with her mother-in-law. The video of Rosidah sitting forlornly at the grave was captured by Gurun assemblyman Baddrol Bakhtiar, who happened to be at the cemetery at the time. > Dangdut singer Mas Idayu and her husband Muhamad Sufian Che Isa have parted ways but the couple remain on good terms, Harian Metro reported. 'We are still friends. What happened is fated. This is the end of the line for us,' said Sufian, who is an executive producer with TV3. Their three-year marriage was officially dissolved in March at the Shah Alam Syariah Court. Since their parting was amicable, he said he is prepared to work together with Mas Idayu on TV programmes for the station. Sufian, 54, and Mas Idayu, 53, were married in September 2022. Across the distance, through grief: A mother's visit to her son's grave [WATCH]

SUNGAI PETANI: Driven by longing, Rosidah Ibrahim summoned the strength to embark on a journey of hundreds of kilometres to the cemetery in Sungai Petani, where she visited the grave of her eldest son, the late Muhammad Fazrin Abdul Wahid, who passed away on Oct 27 last year." Her poignant visit — after travelling nearly 500km from Terengganu to Sungai Petani — was coincidentally captured by the Gurun assemblyman, Baddrol Bakhtiar, who was at the cemetery at the time to pay respects at his own child's grave The video captured the attention of netizens and has garnered over 579,000 views since it was shared by Baddrol on TikTok two days ago. It also prompted a heartfelt response from the late Muhammad Fazrin's wife, Nurul Nabilah Rizal, 32, who confirmed that the woman in the video was her mother-in-law, who had travelled from Terengganu to visit her beloved son's grave. According to Harian Metro, Nurul Nabilah explained that her mother-in-law regularly visits her husband's resting place at the Raudhatul Solihin Muslim Cemetery, where he was laid to rest after passing away from pneumonia. Nurul Nabilah added that whenever her mother-in-law visits Kedah, she stays at her home—something that has nurtured a deep bond between them. "As a daughter-in-law, I felt sad and moved when I saw the video because I know how much my mother-in-law loved my husband. "From that, I could see the sacrifice of a mother who never stops, even though her child is no longer here. "I understand because my mother-in-law was indeed very close to her son, and my husband was the family's hope as the eldest of eight siblings. "Besides, my late husband was a good son, always helpful and never raised his voice," she said when contacted by Harian Metro. Nurul Nabilah shared that although she and her family have come to terms with her husband's passing, the memories they created together remain vivid. She added that she is committed to maintaining strong ties with her in-laws for as long as she lives. "I've read the comments from netizens and I'm thankful that many prayed for us and left positive remarks. "I was truly blessed to have a good husband and a kind in-law family. I hope those who watched the video will pray for my mother-in-law to remain in good health. "To my mother-in-law, thank you for always visiting my husband's grave and for treating me like your own daughter all this while," said Nurul Nabilah, who is now raising their six-year-old son, Muhammad Ali Al-Uthman Muhammad Fazrin.
