Ron Howard may be known for his roles on The Andy Griffith Show and Happy Days, though he isn't the only working actor in his family. The beloved former child star opened up about his brother Clint Howard's acting success, including his memorable appearance on The Bold and the Beautiful.
After Clint, 66, received a Daytime Emmy nomination for his role as Tom Starr on the soap opera, Ron, 71, spoke to People about his brother's accomplishment. "I know he did a good job because people come up and talk to me about his performance on that,' he said of Clint.
'And so I saw one episode, I thought he was great,' Ron continued. 'And it was one of those things where they brought him in for one episode and he wound up doing 10 or 12 of them."
Ron was then asked if he ever gives Clint acting advice, though he said that he doesn't often need it once he's booked a gig. 'Oh, no, no. He's just fun," the Eden director said. "When I'm casting, I'm sure he gets notes, but when I'm watching him, I'm just enjoying my brother. He's a very individual talent. Has his own cadence and vibe."
Clint's nomination came five days before Ron earned his own nod at the 2025 Emmy Awards for his guest starring role as a satirically temperamental version himself on The Studio.

After his nomination was announced on Tuesday, July 15, Ron told People that being included in the category was a "fun surprise."
"It never even crossed my mind because it was so beyond the realm of feasibility," he said of the nomination. "So this whole thing is an absolute gift — from out of nowhere. It's really gratifying, really fun."
Despite having cause for celebration, Ron said that he was having a "normal day with this infusion of tremendous happiness."
