KUCHING (Aug 8): Sarawak's Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen (APGH) Conference has won a top honour at the prestigious Third Malaysian Business Events (MBE) Awards 2025, after making its debut in June last year. APGH received the 'New Homegrown Event Excellence: Trade Exhibition/Consumer Exhibition' award at the grand awards ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday night, beating out two other major events. The awards are organised by the Malaysian Association of Conventions and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) as the country's premier platform for recognising exceptional contributions in exhibitions, conferences, meetings, events and support services. In a statement, APGH organiser, Borneo Business Connect, said the recognition underscores Sarawak's commitment to leadership in renewable energy innovation and sustainable development in the region. 'Winning the MACEOS MBE Award is a testament to our nation's and state's commitment to a greener future,' said Borneo Business Connect CEO Mona Abd Manap in the statement. The statement added that APGH marks Sarawak's first homegrown initiative dedicated to advancing green hydrogen technology, fostering regional collaborations, and positioning the state as a premier energy hub in Southeast Asia. It attracted leading industry experts, government officials, and green technology pioneers from across the Asia Pacific, emphasising Sarawak's vision of a sustainable and diversified energy landscape. 'Receiving the MBE Award from MACEOS, affirms Sarawak's strategic efforts in promoting environmentally friendly energy solutions. 'This accolade will significantly bolster Sarawak's roadmap to becoming a regional leader in the green energy sector, attracting investments, stimulating local innovation, and creating sustainable economic growth,' it said. APGH will be held next year from June 9-11. APGH Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Malaysian Business Events
