Delay in submitting seat matrix of professional courses to KEA may delay counselling
Four days after the deadline to submit the seat matrix for various professional courses ended, no department, including the Higher Education Department, has submitted it to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). The seat matrix of professional courses, including engineering and others, is necessary for both the KEA and students at this stage after the Common Entrance Test (CET) results. However, owing to the delay in submitting the seat matrix, there is a possibility that the counselling process will also be delayed this time. 'We need at least one week to upload the seat matrix after receiving the same from various departments. Unless we receive the seat matrix we cannot proceed further,' said H. Prasanna, executive director of KEA. As per information from the KEA, the authorities have personally met officials of the Higher Education and the Medical Education departments requesting for seat matrix. 'Despite repeated requests there is no response from the departments,' an official of the KEA said. For engineering courses, the Higher Education Department has to get the seat matrix from respective colleges and submit it to the KEA. For medical, dental and nursing it is the responsibility of the Medical Education Department. Higher Education Department officials said they are compiling the data and submitting the same to the KEA soon. However, the medical, dental and nursing seat matrix will be delayed because the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) was under a dilemma following the directions from the Governor not to involve some of the senate members in any committees, including college inspection.

No PGCET for five engineering courses: KEA
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has decided not to conduct PGCET-2025 for five ME/MTech courses after fewer candidates than the number of seats available registered for the exam. Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Polymer Science, and Textile Technology are the five courses for which the exam will not be conducted. 'Since the number of applicants is less than the available seats for these courses, a merit list will be prepared and published based on the marks obtained in the qualifying degree examination. This proposal has been submitted to the government,' said H. Prasanna, Executive Director, KEA. With the exception of these five courses, the entrance exam for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Sciences, and Electrical Sciences will be held as per schedule on May 31. The computer-based test for Computer Science Engineering will be conducted on June 2.

KCET 2025: Link to submit PUC 2 marks, correct registration number opens on May 26
Candidates whose CET-2025 results have not been announced due to errors in entering their registration numbers will be given an opportunity to upload their marks online starting May 26, according to H. Prasanna, Executive Director of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). KEA released the CET-2025 results on Saturday. However, several candidates have submitted representations stating that even though they passed the 2nd PUC / Class 12 exams in the previous year, their CET results were not published. In response, the KEA issued a press release on Saturday. It was earlier announced that the 2nd PUC / Class 12 marks would be obtained directly from the respective education boards before announcing the CET-2025 results, and candidates were required to enter the correct registration number. However, some candidates failed to enter the correct registration number, due to which their results could not be processed, said Prasanna. From May 26, an online link will be activated where such candidates must submit their 2nd PUC / Class 12 marks along with the correct registration number and upload their mark sheet. Once the KEA verifies and confirms these marks with the respective boards, the candidates will be issued a spot rank starting from May 29. Candidates are not required to visit the KEA office to obtain the spot rank, he clarified.
