Noida: Residents and commuters alike have raised concerns over a pothole that has come up along a broken sidewalk in the service lane between Sectors 135 and 168. The poor condition of the stretch has become a traffic hazard for those traversing the area, commuters said, adding that they are facing increased delays and congestion in the area. Residents noted that while the service lane is some distance away from housing societies in Sector 135, the stretch is a necessary part of the commute for many office-goers who work in the area, which is a commercial hub with around 30-40 offices nearby. "The pothole poses a risk not only to vehicles, but also to the safety of pedestrians. Local authorities must address this matter as soon as possible," said Yashpal Singh Chikara, secretary of the HD Duplex Villas RWA. Office-goers rushing to the complex only adds to the traffic congestion during peak hours. Residents have urged officials to take immediate action to repair the pothole and improve the road conditions to ensure the safety and convenience of commuters. "The growing demand for effective infrastructure in the area cannot be overstated. I hope for swift redress to the daily traffic snarl in the area," Owais told TOI.
