Terror Vault returns this year with a witchy new theme
San Francisco's cult-favorite horror show returns this October with a witchy new spectacle.
The big picture: Terror Vault, the live scare-fest co-founded by celebrated local drag artist Peaches Christ, announced its newest theme this week — one that will plunge guests into a live witch-hunting nightmare.
What they're saying:"At a time when queer spaces are vanishing, it's more important than ever to show up, get scared, and support the artists and weirdos who make San Francisco sparkle," Joshua Grannell (Peaches Christ), said in a statement.
This year's haunting theme, " HEXED," transforms the historic Mint into an immersive theatrical escape where participants must help stop a coven of powerful witches from plunging the world into darkness.
Previous years have featured vampires, cults and aliens as the main scaries.
What to expect: Dark hallways, jump scares, haunted mazes, escape room puzzles, intense role play, an engaging storyline and hands-on experience.
VIP ticket holders will receive a glow-in-the-dark necklace that signals their readiness for a more terrifying scare and access to hidden rooms, including a witchy drag strip club starring artist Minerva Moans.
Stop by: CreepShop, which features indie horror brands like Little Whip and Kreepsville666, and Fang Bang — an '80s-inspired vampire bar — will be open to the public during show hours.
