HP & Datacom unveil AI-powered platform for smarter IT management
HP and Datacom have collaborated to launch Datacom Insights, a service designed to provide businesses with real-time visibility into device health, security risks and overall fleet performance, aiming to support IT teams adapting to hybrid work environments.
The Datacom Insights service is built using HP's Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) and leverages artificial intelligence to analyse data, offering organisations the ability to replace traditional IT guesswork with live insights.
This approach is intended to help IT teams resolve issues more quickly, spot potential risks before they escalate, and optimise both device usage and environmental impact.
AI-driven automation
According to HP and Datacom, the growing prevalence of hybrid work has increased the complexity facing IT departments.
The introduction of services such as Datacom Insights aims to decrease this complexity by automating reporting processes and offering actionable, data-led recommendations. "The shift to hybrid has created a new level of complexity for IT teams, and the old ways of working just don't cut it anymore. What businesses need now are tools that can anticipate issues before they escalate, streamline fleet visibility, and empower teams to make confident decisions. That's exactly what our partnership with Datacom is delivering."
Datacom Insights enables IT leaders to monitor their entire hardware and software environment, providing a clear and current picture of asset health, utilisation and potential vulnerabilities.
The service also offers predictive insights, aimed at helping organisations address potential problems before they impact users.
Supporting IT leaders
The emphasis on supporting IT leaders to make confident, proactive decisions is central to the partnership.
By providing an overview of the technology landscape within an organisation, Datacom and HP maintain that IT departments will have increased clarity and control, allowing better allocation of resources and reducing unnecessary costs associated with reactive issue resolution.
Environmental considerations have also played a role in the development of Datacom Insights.
By offering information on device usage and performance, organisations can make decisions that align with sustainability targets, such as reducing power consumption or extending device life cycles. This, in turn, may help organisations move towards meeting their environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments. "We've built Datacom Insights to give our customers clarity and control across their entire IT investment. With HP WXP our clients' IT decisions are fully informed. This isn't just after the fact either, these are pre-emptive strategic opportunities that our partnership is providing. A significant benefit of this approach is the boost it gives to sustainable practices that should now be a core consideration for any smart IT fleet policy."
Adoption and deployment
Datacom Insights is positioned as an immediate step towards making IT management more dynamic, especially as businesses continue to navigate hybrid work models.
The service integrates directly with existing HP WXP capabilities, providing real-time reporting dashboards that highlight device performance and security status.
This approach is intended to help reduce the administrative burden on IT staff, allowing them to focus on strategic initiatives rather than routine maintenance or incident response.
In addition, the use of AI-driven insight generation is expected to improve the efficiency of IT operations and reduce downtime for end users.
By working together, HP and Datacom seek to address some of the challenges experienced by modern IT teams and align technology management practices with broader business objectives and sustainability goals.
