Gardening experts advise against trimming your hedges during nesting season, which typically occurs from March to August.
So the arrival of autumn means it's time to get those hedges under control.
And thankfully, Lidl shoppers can snap up savings on a new long-range trimmer.
The Parkside Long-Reach Hedge Trimmer will hit the middle aisle for just £59.99 on Sunday, 24 August.
And it's even better news for those with Lidl Plus as they can avail of a £10 off offer on this buy, making it just £49.99.
Product details
Designed for trimming hedges up to 3.5 metres high, this power tool is described as "great for easily cutting back ground cover".
It consists of a powerful 710W motor and high-quality metal gears, with a quality blade made from laser-cut special steel and an aluminium guide rail.
And while you must be over 18 to purchase this gadget, it is designed to be user-friendly, with tool-free adjustment of the cutting angle.
You can select up to nine positions, with a total span 180°, and a five-way adjustable handle that features a safety switch.
An extension piece allows for an extra 60cm on top of the cutting length of 41cm.

Meanwhile, the 3m power cable allows for flexibility in use with integrated strain relief.
The trimmer is designed to cut through branches that measure up to 15mm in diameter.
It can be adjusted for space-saving storage and transportation and comes with an adjustable shoulder strap and carabiner, a protective blade cover, and safety glasses.
Lidl customers who purchase this gadget will receive a three-year warranty.
But hurry if you want to avail of the Lidl Plus discount, as it is only available until Saturday, 30 August.

Tesco buy
Meanwhile, a similar buy is available from Tesco, but at a significantly higher price.
The Gtech HT50 Long Reach Cordless Hedge Trimmer is currently listed for £189.99.
While this gadget may be more expensive, it does bare a lot of differences from the Lidl version.
With a 53cm blade, this trimmer does not have a cord and boasts a 60 minute runtime and is designed to cut branches measuring up to 25mm in diameter.
However, the Tesco version does not come out on top for all features, falling just short of the Lidl buy's full reach.
