Field Marshal must act on Kashmir, Palestine too: Hafiz Naeem

Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has called on the country's military leadership to actively take up the causes of Kashmir and Palestine. Addressing a large rally titled "Down with Israel and India" at Koh-i-Noor Chowk, he said Pakistan must go beyond statements and play a leading role in supporting oppressed Muslims globally. He said, "If we don't raise our voice for Gaza and Kashmir, we will lose the nation's support. One who saves a life saves all humanity-this is our duty." He also criticised Pakistan's political elite for remaining silent on Israeli aggression, accusing PML-N, PPP and PTI of fearing US displeasure. Hafiz Naeem praised countries like South Africa, Spain and Ireland for taking a bold stand against Israel, and urged Pakistan to lead a Muslim world summit, both political and military, to demand an end to Israeli atrocities and Indian occupation in Kashmir. He warned that continued silence and inaction from Muslim rulers and Pakistan's own establishment would erode public trust. "People backed you against India despite their grievances. But if you stay quiet on Palestine and Kashmir, the nation will stop standing with you," he said.

Gaza: JI calls for early action by govt, Muslim world

KARACHI: Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, the Central Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has called for immediate and collective action from the government and the Muslim world against Israel to protect children in Gaza from starvation. He made these remarks during a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq, the JI Karachi headquarters, and reiterated them during a 'Karachi Connect Social Media Meetup' organized by the JI Karachi Women's Wing. Hafiz Naeem highlighted the severe man-made devastation in Gaza, expressing deep grief over children facing starvation in the modern age. He criticized President Donald Trump for his complicity with the Israeli premier regarding the Gaza genocide. He noted growing international opposition to Israeli actions, including protests in European Union countries and significant public disapproval in the United Kingdom. He urged Arab nations to align with 'the right side of history' to avoid internal backlash. The JI leader emphasized that the significance of the Pakistani military has increased following recent skirmishes, drawing parallels between Israel's actions in Gaza and India's in Kashmir. He urged the Pakistani military to intervene in Gaza, believing it would also aid the Kashmir cause. He advocated for collective and unified action by the Muslim world against Israel. In terms of public action, he announced that medics under the JI Karachi banner would march for Gaza on May 31, followed by a larger march in Hyderabad on June 1. He also reiterated the call for a continued boycott of Israeli products. Addressing domestic concerns, the JI Central Chief proposed revising the tax regime to exempt individuals earning Rs120,000 per month or less, along with small-scale farmers, from taxation. JI announces protests against Israeli aggression

Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has strongly condemned Israeli military actions in Palestine, denouncing the international community, particularly Muslim countries, for being silent spectators. Speaking during an emergency press conference held at the party's headquarters in Mansoora on Sunday, he announced a nationwide solidarity campaign with the Palestinian people, including a series of protest rallies to be held outside US diplomatic missions. The demonstrations are scheduled for April 11 in Lahore, April 13 in Karachi, and April 20 in Islamabad, which he said are intended to "send a strong message" against Israeli atrocities. "The true face of Western powers and Muslim regimes backing Israel has been exposed," he said, accusing some Muslim governments of aligning with the Zionist state under US patronage at the cost of regional stability and moral responsibility. The JI emir denounced Muslim leaders for their "failure to respond decisively". "Had there been any honour or courage left in the Muslim world, Israel would not have dared to commit such barbarism," he said. He alleged that over 80,000 homes had been destroyed in the West Bank, thousands imprisoned and that Israel is carrying out a campaign of genocide. He warned that those cooperating with Israel were betraying the Ummah and inflicting long-term damage. "It is the collective duty of the Muslim world to raise its voice for Al-Quds and the Palestinian people," he added. Touching on the domestic issues, Hafiz Naeem dismissed the government's recent decision to reduce electricity bills as insufficient, adding that citizens continue to face high inflation and severe economic hardship while the government implements "cosmetic measures". In response to a media question, he said Jamaat-e-Islami plans to send a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General in the coming months, documenting alleged Israeli aggression and seeking to awaken global conscience. He also urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to clarify reports about a Pakistani delegation allegedly visiting Israel. If such individuals exist, he said, they should be detained and questioned about who authorised their trip, which he said contradicts Pakistan's official foreign policy. He appealed to religious scholars, including Mufti Taqi Usmani and Mufti Muneebur Rehman, to issue Shariah guidance regarding the concept of Jihad in the context of Israeli actions in Gaza. He said such religious leadership could influence Muslim rulers to take concrete action in defence of Palestinians.

JI announces march towards US embassy over Gaza aggression

Listen to article Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman on Sunday announced the suspension of the party's routine activities to focus on a series of nationwide protests in support of Palestinians in Gaza. Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Hafiz Naeem said, 'Jamaat-e-Islami is suspending all normal activities from today.' He outlined a protest calendar, beginning with countrywide demonstrations on Friday, April 11. 'On April 13, we will hold a Palestine March in Karachi, and on April 20, we will march towards the US embassy in Islamabad,' he added. Hafiz Naeem said a delegation of Pakistani parliamentarians would reach out to Muslim-majority countries including Türkiye, Iran, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt to push for breaking the Israeli blockade of Gaza. 'There is a graveyard-like silence on the issue of Palestine across the world,' he said. 'The mask has fallen off the faces of the US, UK, and Europe — the West is just as barbaric today as it was during the Dark Ages.' Hafiz Naeem also criticised the inaction of Muslim countries. 'Muslim nations have wrapped themselves in a blanket of apathy. If they had shown some honour, perhaps the atrocities in Gaza wouldn't have happened,' he said. He concluded by reaffirming JI's commitment to advocating for Palestinian rights. 'We will raise this issue with the government. Even when we last spoke with the prime minister, we called attention to the massacre in Gaza,' he said.

JI to hold nationwide protests in solidarity with Gaza

He stated that the true face of Western powers and Muslim regimes supporting Israel has now been exposed. Announcing a nationwide solidarity campaign, he said Jamaat-e-Islami will organize protest marches across the country in support of the Palestinian people. Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman announced that protest rallies will be held outside US embassies on April 11 in Lahore, April 13 in Karachi, and April 20 in Islamabad to send a strong message to the world against Israeli atrocities in Palestine. Criticizing Muslim rulers, he said, "Had there been any honor and courage left in the Muslim world, Israel would not have dared to commit such barbarism." He warned that aligning with the Zionist regime and making deals under US patronage would not ensure the safety of Muslim countries. "The oppression is not limited to Gaza alone; Israel has demolished over 80,000 homes in the West Bank, imprisoned thousands, and is committing genocide," he added. He said that those betraying the Ummah by collaborating with Zionists are causing irreparable harm, and it is the collective responsibility of the Muslim world to raise its voice for Al-Quds and the Palestinian people. Commenting on the government's recent move to reduce electricity bills, Hafiz Naeem termed it insufficient, stating that the public is suffering from inflation and economic hardship while the government is only taking cosmetic measures. Responding to a question, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said Jamaat-e-Islami will send a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General in the coming months, highlighting Israeli aggression and terrorism in Palestine in an effort to awaken the global conscience. He also demanded that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarify reports regarding a Pakistani delegation allegedly visiting Israel. He said that if such individuals exist, they should be arrested and interrogated about who authorized them to engage in dialogue with Israelis, which is against the official policy of the state. Hafiz Naeem further appealed to prominent scholars like Mufti Taqi Usmani, Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman, and others to provide Shariah guidance on the issue of jihad in light of the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Gaza, so that Muslim rulers may be compelled to take concrete action in support of the Palestinian people.
