But he's posted an emotional farewell message to Gers supporters on his Instagram. He said: "My time at Rangers has come to an end and I want to thank everyone who made it unforgettable. "To the staff, players and everyone behind the scenes - thank you for your support and professionalism. "To the fans - your passion and loyalty are unmatched. It was an honour to represent this club and play in front of you. "Wishing Rangers all the best for the future." The attacker initially joined Rangers on loan before making a permanent move in the summer of 2020. He made more than 130 appearances for the club and helped Rangers to clinch the Premiership title in 2021. A statement on Rangers website said: "After various conversations, both the club and Ianis have decided to part ways and mutually agreed to bring their time together to an end. "It's after years full of great achievements and tough moments, always driven by the same ambition and commitment to the team." Kris Boyd says Rangers players were in SHOCK that 'ghost goal' against Hibs wasn't given Meanwhile, there could be developments in the race to find Rangers next manager. SunSport revealed it had come down to a head-to-head between Steven Gerrard and Russell Martin. But Reports in Spain suggest that Davide Ancelotti could yet still be in the frame for the job. It is believed he will still link up with his legendary father Carlo at the Brazil national team for World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay before setting out on his own this summer. Ianis Hagi pens emotional Rangers farewell message
Hagi made 130 appearances in light blue. He won the Scottish Premiership title with Rangers in the 2020/21 season, and also helped his team in Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup triumphs. Read more: Hagi took to Instagram after his exit was confirmed: "My time at Rangers has come to an end, and I want to thank everyone who made it 10 years unforgettable," he said. "To the staff, players, and everyone behind the scenes - thank you for your support and professionalism. To the fans — your passion and loyalty are unmatched. It was an honour to represent this club and play in front of you. Wishing Rangers all the best for the future. "With gratitude, Ianis Hagi." Hagi departs Rangers this summer alongside fellow out-of-contract stars Tom Lawrence and Leon Balogun. The latter also recently took to social media following his departure: "It's that time again," said Balogun. "No caption could summarise all that is going through my mind as I'm writing these been nothing short of an honour, a pleasure and a great, great privilege to represent this massive club - twice! "So many memories, good ones as well as a few tough ones. But it's the latter especially that made my love for the club grow even stronger. "The moments when we all stuck together and went again - no matter the disappointment or frustration. "In these moments the club revealed what makes it most special: YOU. "The people supporting us week in week out, near and far, demanding, expecting, pushing us to do better and go for glory. "The people working for the club behind the scenes, meeting us with a smile everyday, doing their absolute best to contribute to the success of the club in their own way. "You're the heartbeat of the club and it's been an honour to represent you! "If I would have known that the last 2 games of the season were my last for the club I would have made sure to say goodbye to all of you accordingly. "Unfortunately, I wasn't afforded that opportunity which saddens me as I would have liked to have walked round Ibrox one last time and returned all the love and support you've given me during my 2 stints. "I don't know when I'll be back, but I promise I won't be a stranger. Thank you for making me feel at home and appreciated wherever we met. "You've become more than just my club, you've become family. And for that I will be forever grateful. All the best my people, Leon."

Club bid to lure ex-Rangers star Ianis Hagi with unique clause
Hagi was allowed to leave Ibrox this week with his contract expiring soon, after 177 appearances for Rangers. He's been linked with a move to either Serie A side Genoa or Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga. However, controversial owner and president of Steaua, Becali - the former politician who was jailed 12 years ago for three years on corruption charges - doesn't hide from the fact he often makes selection and tactical decisions at his club. And he will try and bring Hagi junior back to Romania. He said: "I want Ianis Hagi so much. He's the best footballer in Romania. "I'm a realist and of course I realise Ianis would be difficult to get. "But I would be prepared to offer him a contract guaranteeing him he would start in every European game we play. "I will speak to his father Gheorghe Hagi and see if this is a possibility. "We're working on the transfers. We're preparing it in advance for next season."
