Hajj, the annual Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca undertaken by Muslims across the globe, is expected to take place between May 24 and 29, 2026. – The Hajj Committee of India, on Wednesday, August 13, released the Qurrah draw results on the committee's official website— – Candidates who had applied for the pilgrimage can check the status and Qurrah result by using their cover number. – The procedure was also broadcast live on and took place at the Hajj Committee's Committee Room at Hajj House in Mumbai. – Earlier, the Hajj committee had also mentioned that applicants will also be notified through SMS. Applicants who had submitted their applications for Hajj 2026 by August 7, can check the Qurrah results using their cover number. – All the pilgrims who have been shortlisted for Hajj 2025, are required to pay an advance of ₹ 1,52,300 by August 20. – Hajj 2026 will have 18 departure points across India, including: Bengaluru, Tier-2 cities (except Bhopal, Vijayawada, and Aurangabad) – Flight schedules for the pilgrimage — including departure and return timings — will be announced later. In case any shortlisted pilgrim is unable to pay the advance amount, his/her application for Hajj 2026 will be cancelled. As per multiple reports, next year, Hajj is expected to take place between May 24 and 29, 2026. – On Sunday, the Hajj Committee of India announced a Short Duration Hajj Package for working professionals. – Over 10,000 pilgrims can apply under this scheme, as per reports.

Hajj 2026: Qurrah draw site The Hajj Committee of India conducted the Qurrah (draw of lots) at 11:30 am today in its Committee Room at the Hajj House, Mumbai. A notification issued earlier on Tuesday stated, 'The Qurrah will be conducted online and livestreamed on the official website of the Hajj Committee of India — Additionally, it stated that the same website will include the list of pilgrims who have been waitlisted and provisionally selected. Applicants will also receive notifications via SMS, according to the announcement. Using their cover number, pilgrims can view their current status and Qur'anic findings. Hajj 2026: Guidelines By August 20, all pilgrims who have been tentatively chosen must pay the Rs. 1,52,300 Advance Hajj fee. Their application will be cancelled if they do not make the payment. In addition to other tier-2 cities, Hajj 2026 will feature 18 embarkation locations nationwide, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. No embarkation sites would be available in Bhopal, Vijayawada, or Aurangabad. Flight information, both inbound and outgoing, will be made public later. The Short Duration Hajj Package for working professionals has been approved by the Hajj Committee. More than 10,000 pilgrims are eligible to apply under this program. India has a total of 175,025 quotas under the government program. A 20-day stay in Saudi Arabia is included in the package. Qurrah will be used to confirm the final list if there are more than 10,000 applications.

This is in line with the directives of Advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah Region, and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. Prince Saud conveyed Prince Khaled Al-Faisal's appreciation to committee members for their efforts during Hajj 1446 AH, which enabled pilgrims to perform their rituals in ease and comfort. He emphasized the importance of taking advantage of the positive outcomes of this year's Hajj and urged all stakeholders to intensify their efforts, enhance cooperation, and begin early planning to meet the aspirations of the leadership through further improving the pilgrimage experience. The committee reviewed key measures to develop the Hajj system further and deliver improved services to pilgrims in the upcoming season. The meeting also examined the operations during pilgrims' departure through various entry and exit points, as well as other items on the agenda. Government entities in the Madinah Region have begun seeing off pilgrims returning to their home countries through the Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, after performing Hajj this year with ease and tranquility. Following Hajj, large numbers of pilgrims are arriving in Madinah to pray at the Prophet's Mosque and extend their greetings to Prophet Muhammad and his two companions. To streamline their departure, a program has been implemented to facilitate their transfer from residences to the airport, the Saudi Press Agency said on Monday. The program is overseen by the Hajj and Visit Committee in the region and relevant entities to ensure the orderly and timely departure of flights to various destinations. Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport achieved notable success during the pre-Hajj phase, efficiently handling the Hajj flights. During the arrival period, the airport received 719,400 pilgrims, accounting for 49% of pilgrims arriving by air to the Kingdom this Hajj season. Starting from 1 Dhul-Qi'dah, 1,910 flights carrying pilgrims from 196 cities in 53 countries arrived at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, operated by 65 airlines. This accounted for 60% of all Hajj flights received by Saudi airports during the arrival phase.

Saudi Minister of Interior and Supreme Hajj Committee Chairman Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz reviewed the readiness of participating agencies to receive pilgrims at Arafat during this year's Hajj, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday. During his inspection visit, the minister met with several chairmen of the boards of domestic and international Hajj service companies, emphasizing the importance of coordination between the companies and security agencies to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims. He stressed strict adherence to the scheduled movement times to Arafat and the stoning rituals in accordance with approved plans, while avoiding any exposure of pilgrims to the risks of heat stress. Additionally, he inspected several camps that have been prepared and upgraded to receive pilgrims on the Day of Arafat and was briefed on the key services enhanced for this year's Hajj.
