Hajj 1446: King Mohammed VI Urges Pilgrims to Reflect Morocco's Values
Rabat – King Mohammed VI addressed a message to Moroccan pilgrims performing the Hajj pilgrimage this year, 1446 AH. The message was read by the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, during a ceremony marking the departure of the first group of pilgrims from Rabat-Salé airport on Wednesday. The King congratulated the pilgrims for being able to perform Hajj and asked God to accept their prayers and bring them back safely. 'I share your feelings as you yearn to visit these Holy Sites,' said the Monarch. King Mohammed VI reminded the pilgrims of the spiritual importance of Hajj and urged them to prepare themselves physically and spiritually. 'This is the responsibility of each one of you… only patience, remembrance of God, humility and piety can help,' he said. The monarch also called on pilgrims to respect the teachings of Islam and behave with dignity, patience, and solidarity. He asked them to follow the instructions of the Moroccan authorities and the rules set by Saudi Arabia to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage. King Mohammed VI thanked Saudi Arabia's King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their efforts in organizing the Hajj and caring for pilgrims. The Monarch reminded the pilgrims that they are also representing Morocco abroad and should reflect the values of their country, including unity, moderation, and respect. He called on them to pray for Morocco's well-being, for the Royal Family, and for the continued progress of the country. 'I therefore expect you to be ambassadors for your country and preserve this bright cultural image. Keep in mind that it is these incontrovertible values which have enabled our country to continue to enjoy security and stability, and to press ahead,' the King said. The message ended with the King wishing the pilgrims an accepted Hajj and a safe return home. Tags: HajjHajj pilgrimageKing Mohammed VI

Morocco Sends 82-Member Medical Team to Support Pilgrims During Hajj
Rabat – In a ceremony held Monday in Rabat, Health Minister Amine Tahraoui officially welcomed the Moroccan medical mission set to accompany pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj season. The mission's sole goal is to ensure Moroccan pilgrims receive proper medical care throughout their stay in the holy sites. The delegation includes 82 professionals, doctors, nurses, and administrators, drawn from both the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Royal Armed Forces' health services. Their task goes beyond standard medical support. They are expected to stand by the pilgrims in moments of need, provide guidance, administer care, and offer reassurance far from home. Minister Tahraoui reminded the medical team of the responsibility they carry, not only as healthcare professionals but as representatives of Morocco. He urged them to approach their mission with integrity, compassion, and a spirit of service. The task ahead, he said, demands more than clinical expertise, it calls for attentiveness, empathy, and a constant readiness to assist. He stressed the importance of early intervention and awareness. Preventive care, he noted, holds equal weight to treatment. He encouraged the team to remain close to the pilgrims, offer guidance, and help prevent health complications before they arise. Their role also involves monitoring existing health conditions, offering psychological support, and reacting promptly to emergencies. Lamiae Chakiri, regional health director for Souss-Massa and head of this year's medical mission, expressed confidence in the team's ability to meet the demands of the pilgrimage. Before departure, regional health offices across Morocco carried out medical screenings and administered vaccinations. An online platform has also been set up to keep pilgrims informed and connected to the health services available to them abroad. The support system does not end with the team. The ministry has deployed medical points in key locations across Mecca and Medina, seven fixed centers and several mobile units. Referral teams will assist pilgrims in hospitals, while awareness teams will offer advice and answer questions. A new digital system will allow doctors to track each patient's medical file in real time and detect any potential outbreaks. To give pilgrims more control over their health, the ministry has prepared individual kits containing portable medical tools, thermometers, blood pressure monitors, and glucose meters, alongside face masks and hand sanitizers. As thousands of Moroccans prepare for a physically and emotionally demanding journey, the medical mission stands ready to ensure their safety and well-being. Saudi Authorities Arrest Four Chinese Nationals Over Fake Hajj Campaign Ads
Rabat – Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of four Chinese expatriates accused of orchestrating a fraudulent Hajj campaign, following the circulation of a misleading promotional video on social media. In a post shared Tuesday on its official X account, the ministry confirmed that security patrols in Makkah had apprehended the individuals for publishing fake advertisements claiming to offer housing and transportation services for pilgrims within the holy sites. The suspects allegedly used social media platforms to promote the unauthorized campaign, luring potential pilgrims with false promises during one of the most tightly regulated religious events in the country. 'They were arrested, legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution,' the ministry's statement said. Alongside the announcement , authorities posted blurred photographs showing the detainees from behind. The Ministry of Interior reiterated its call for both citizens and residents to comply with official Hajj regulations and to remain vigilant against scams, urging the public to report violations via emergency numbers. The incident comes amid increased scrutiny ahead of the annual pilgrimage season, as Saudi Arabia continues efforts to crack down on unauthorized operators and enhance the safety and organization of Hajj logistics. Yesterday, the Moroccan Ministry of Islamic Affairs also urged all citizens to remain alert against fraudulent announcements related to the Hajj visa. In a statement, the ministry stressed that performing Hajj requires a specific Hajj visa through the online portal established by Saudi authorities. 'This must be done within the quota allocated to the Kingdom of Morocco, either through the official campaign or via authorized travel agencies,' the ministry said.
