ADSC, ADCC sign partnership agreements with Daman to promote healthy lifestyles

5 May 2025 16:59 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Abu Dhabi Cycling Club (ADCC) have signed two partnership agreements with the National Health Insurance Company – Daman, a subsidiary of PureHealth Group and one of the region's leading health insurance providers. The agreements aim to support and promote community and sports initiatives across the emirate of Abu the agreements, Daman will continue its role as a key supporting partner for various community events organised by both ADSC and ADCC throughout the year, reinforcing its longstanding commitment to health and Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said, 'We take pride in our ongoing partnership with Daman, which reflects our shared commitment to fostering a culture of sports and healthy living across all segments of society. Their consistent and effective support plays a vital role in our community initiatives.'Al Awani noted that the agreements would contribute to preventing lifestyle-related diseases, improving physical fitness, and enhancing quality of life, all while aligning with Abu Dhabi's broader public health also emphasised the role of such partnerships in strengthening social bonds, and promoting mental health through inclusive community engagement.'These agreements between the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, and Daman represent a pioneering model for activating the Year of Community initiative through impactful events that directly benefit individuals and uphold national values,' he Ateeq Aldhaheri, CEO of the National Health Insurance Company – Daman, commented, 'This collaboration reflects Daman's firm commitment to launching sustainable community initiatives, and highlights our pivotal role in promoting a healthy lifestyle and enhancing public wellbeing. The signing ceremony took place at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council headquarters in the presence of Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of ADSC; Khaled bin Shaiban Almehairi, Chairman of Daman; Khaled Ateeq Aldhaheri, CEO of Daman; and Al Nekhaira Al Khaili, Executive Director of ADCC.

2000 employees participate in 3rd Abu Dhabi Government Games during Ramadan

Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the event brings together more than 2,000 employees representing over 45 government entities from across Abu year's competition features 11 sports, including football, shooting, padel, fitness, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, chess, and badminton. The events will take place at Abu Dhabi Cricket Sports Hub and Al Forsan International Sports Resort, while the running races will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, and cycling competitions will take place on the Al Wathba Cycle in celebration of Ramadan, the championship is part of an employee engagement and wellbeing programme aimed at fostering positivity, improving performance and professional relationships, and enhancing both personal and professional development within the workplace. The initiative promotes physical health, mental clarity, and overall well-being in an competitive atmosphere that embraces teamwork and the spirit of and individuals representing government entities will compete for total prize money exceeding Dh1.3 million. All events will take place in the evening, starting from Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, confirmed that following the success of the previous two editions, this year's championship will play a key role in encouraging government employees to adopt a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle encompassing physical, mental, and social wellbeing. Al Awani emphasised that the event provides an opportunity for employees to build connections in a positive sporting environment while motivating them to incorporate sports into their daily lives, ultimately improving their overall quality of life and fostering a healthier and more sustainable said: "We aim to drive a fundamental shift in the lifestyle of Abu Dhabi government employees, leveraging the best research and methodologies to achieve this transformation.
