Huge investment in storm overflow reduction for village

Hamble is set to benefit from a new storm overflow reduction scheme. Southern Water is to spend up to £2.42m on solutions to reduce storm overflows from the School Lane outfall near Hamble Copse. Before the work begins, engineers are surveying the network to find the best strategies. The improvements in Hamble will involve investment in technology, including the use of artificial intelligence for real-time control of flows between the pumping stations. Southern Water's clean rivers and seas task force engineering lead, Keith Herbert, said: "We're excited to start this work which will utilise technology and other solutions to help reduce storm overflows in this area. "Hamble is a picturesque village that attracts many visitors and we want to play our part in ensuring the rivers and seas around it are clean, especially as they're a crucial habitat for shellfish." The scheme is part of Southern Water's wider £1.5bn clean rivers and seas plan.

With the overwhelming amount of choice, it might be tough to pin down what the prettiest village in Hampshire is. Here are just five examples of some gorgeous Hampshire villages you can visit for a day out in the county. If you're looking for chocolate-box pretty, then Beaulieu definitely lives up to the hype. Nestled in the heart of the New Forest, you can explore characterful streets as well as the nearby motor museum. The New Forest website adds: "Visitors can explore the scenic landscapes across Millpond, at Beaulieu River and in the surrounding forest, discover the village's heritage, and enjoy attractions and outdoor activities, all while soaking in the timeless charm of this quintessential New Forest gem. 'Manchester Marathon will be victory lap after ME diagnosis'

I have friends, a huge support group of fellow sufferers and they all want to know what I did," she said."All I can say is that I did what I could. There's no answers and it's tough knowing there's still no answers out there for them."She added that the Manchester Marathon marked "a significant milestone" in her journey."Having full mobility is something I really took for granted before I lost my ability to walk, and it's something that I make a conscious effort to celebrate even on the bad days."
