MoFA expresses pride in Al Nowais' election as next UNWTO Secretary-General

ABU DHABI (WAM)Afra Mahash Al Hameli, Director of the Strategic Communications Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), expressed her pride in the election of Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais as the first woman to hold the role of Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) in the history of the Hameli emphasised that this achievement highlights the UAE's leading position on the global stage and reflects the wise leadership's vision of empowering women and promoting their participation in leading international affirmed that this historic win is not only a personal achievement but also an international testament to the competence of Emirati Hameli added that this milestone reflects the UAE's approach, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in empowering women and strengthening their presence in international fora.
She added, 'This achievement reinforces the UAE's leading role in supporting the development of sustainable tourism at the global level and reflects the growing international confidence in our national talent.'
