Supercross 2025 250 results, highlights, finish at Salt Lake City: Haiden Deegan wins East / West Showdown

Haiden Deegan didn't need to win the season finale at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah, but when asked prior to the round if he would race any differently since the Eastern divisional riders still had a championship to decide, he answered with an emphatic 'no.' He would race to win and let the chips fall where they may. Deegan was never part of the divisional battle. He earned the holeshot and rocketed away from the chaos behind him, ultimately finishing nearly 10 seconds ahead of Julien Beaumer as the two young guns renewed their rivalry on the podium stage. Deegan ended the 2025 season with the most 250 wins at four. Click here for a full recap of Salt Lake City Beaumer started the season strong with three podiums in the first three rounds. He injured his shoulder in qualification for Arlington and lost momentum in the middle of the season, but he bounced back at the end of the year to score back-to-back runner-up finishes in the last two rounds. He was passed for position by both Seth Hammaker and RJ Hampshire mid-race, but regained the spot when they crashed while battling for the East championship. The real beneficiary of the Hammaker / Hampshire crash was Tom Vialle. He started the race in second but lacked the pace of his rivals. Vialle faded to fifth, but there was a method to his style. He knew the only way to secure the championship was to stay out of harm's way when the other two title contenders were forced to overextend their luck. Vialle moved back into a podium position on Lap 15 and held Hammaker at bay for his second consecutive 250 title. Vialle will be forced to move into the 450 Supercross division next year by rule, which does not allow 250 champions to stay in the support class for more than one year after winning a title. Relive the 250 Heats Hammaker did not get the best of starts and was as far back as fourth on Lap 8. He had speed, however. Hammaker ran afoul of Vialle's teammate Beaumer in the race's closing stages, and when he was ridden wide, he lost enough momentum to allow Hampshire to close the distance. Hampshire lost patience on Lap 15 and cleaned out his competitor just shy of the finish line jump. Hammaker remounted his bike in fourth, but lost too much distance to catch and pass Vialle. Hampshire accepted responsibility for the incident: 'Everyone always says they'll do whatever it takes to win a championship. Well, I did it. I was the guy. I take full accountability for it,' he said in an interview with Hampshire apologized to Hammaker and Pro Circuit team principal Mitch Payton after the damage was done. Hampshire will move into the 450 division next weekend when the Pro Motocross season begins at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. Cole Davies crashes hard, injures arm Michael Mosiman finished fifth to score his third top-five of the season. Supercross 2025 results: 250 highlights, finish order, at Philadelphia, Tom Vialle scores clutch win

Tom Vialle became the 12th 250 divisional rider to win a race in the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross season at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and did so in the nick of time. Winless in his first eight attempts as the reigning 250 East champion, Vialle's hope of defending his title took a serious blow in Foxborough, Massachusetts, when he got mired in the mud on the final lap and finished 22nd. The following week, he finished behind his principal rivals, Seth Hammaker and RJ Hampshire, and entered Pittsburgh with a seven-point disadvantage. He was not out of contention for the title, but the hill was steep. Advertisement Vialle's clutch win elevated him to the points lead by one over Hammaker and three above Hampshire, setting up a three-rider battle for the championship. For the 250 in the Eastern division, it will come down to a winner-takes-all scenario in Salt Lake City. If only it were that simple. The inclusion of the 250 West riders in the final East / West Showdown and tiebreakers, should Vialle or Hammaker fail to win, makes the math much more complicated. Red plate holder Hammaker got a terrible start and was well outside the top 10 in 15th after Lap 1. He methodically passed riders at the pace of about one per lap until he settled into sixth on Lap 6. Hammaker moved into fifth on Lap 12 and momentarily regained the points lead. Vialle's pass for the lead on Lap 16 provided him the lead, but Hammaker's effort put him in a spot where any position ahead of Vialle would give him the tiebreaker of the most divisional wins. "It was going to come down to that last [round] regardless, and now it's just winner take all for sure," Hammaker said after the race. Advertisement Both riders have to watch for Hampshire. A win by that rider would give him the tiebreaker even if Hammaker finishes second. The 2024 250 West champion has one win, a pair of second-place finishes, and another podium compared to Hammaker's three total podiums. Hampshire rode in the fourth position for most of the race, crept into third from Lap 11 through 15, and then fell back to fourth to finish the race. When Hampshire was forced to change coasts due to a wrist injury that kept him from lining up for the 250 West opener, everyone knew he would battle Vialle for the title. Nate Thrasher earned the holeshot, paced the field for the first 17 laps, and had a convincing lead in the middle stage of the race. Vialle needed the win and was simply more determined at the end with a championship on the line. Back-to-back top-fives in New Jersey and Pittsburgh help erase a pair of disappointments at Foxborough and Philadelphia. Advertisement Hampshire's odds would have been improved if not for the determination of Maximus Vohland. He refused to give up when Hampshire passed him for third on Lap 10, kept the pressure on, and retook the spot five laps later. Vohland's first career podium came after a difficult couple of seasons of injury and a team change from Pro Circuit Kawasaki to the surging ClubMX team. Northeast success has Seth Hammaker poised for the 250 East championship

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania: If one had asked Seth Hammaker about his championship odds after Detroit, he would have answered with the typical response that it's a long season and anything can happen — but he might not have fully convinced himself that was true. A poor finish of 17th in Round 2 of the Monster Energy Supercross season dug a hole it would take time to climb from but he had some consolation in the fact that RJ Hampshire struggled in the opener in Tampa. 'At the second round in Detroit, I got food poisoning and finished 17th, so that definitely put us at a deficit right off the bat,' Hammaker told NBC Sports. 'It's been crazy in the Eastern division because everyone has had one of those bad races. Everybody's pulled together at the end. It's been a great battle.' Hammaker finished third the following week at Daytona International Speedway and scored his first win of 2025 in his next attempt in Indianapolis. The landscape was changing for Hammaker, but with a different winner every week in the 250 East division, it seemed that no one wanted to take advantage of the situation. Dan Beaver, That changed when the series headed to the Northeast. Hailing from Bainbridge, Pennsylvania, a community south of Harrisburg, Hammaker had home field advantage when the Northeast tour began in Foxborough, Massachusetts. That race did not go to anyone's plan. Perhaps the muddiest Supercross race in recent memory, it was a battle for survival where a rider's will was equally important to his skill. Hammaker finished ninth, which might not seem like much on its face, but his principle rivals Hampshire and Tom Vialle struggled to a greater degree. Hampshire finished five spots back in 14th. Vialle fell at the end of the race and could not extract his bike from the mud. He finished last and failed to earn any points. 'I feel like [the Northeast Tour] played in my favor a lot — having the hometown crowd at a lot of them,' Hammaker said. 'That fires me up for these races to have that support behind me. It plays a big role. Philadelphia, where I had the most people and as much as that was awesome. It was also a stressful day to have everyone there. You have to find that balance — you're still here to do a job.' Hammaker finished fourth in Philadelphia. Hampshire was one position ahead of him as two West division riders, Cole Davies and Haiden Deegan, took the other to podium positions. Last week, Hammaker became the first 250 East rider to win multiple races. He entered New Jersey tied for the points lead with Hampshire and had to look over and see another rider also sporting the red plate. Seth Hammaker became the first 250 East rider with multiple 2025 wins in New Jersey. Feld Entertainment / Align Media Hammaker took the lead early at MetLife Stadium. He never relinquished it, even though Hampshire closed the distance in the closing laps. Winning by a little is as good as winning by a lap and Hammaker enters the final two rounds with a three-point lead over Hampshire and seven over Vialle. Perhaps still regarded as an underdog to defeat the two riders who won 250 championships in 2024, Hammaker has one last chance to use the hometown advantage in Pittsburgh. His focus this week is on leaving Pennsylvania with the red plate still affixed to his bike — because the season finale in Salt Lake City is going to be the most important race of his career. 'Salt Lake City may be a little more [important] because you have those West Coast guys that can get in the mix — and they will get in the mix — so that one will be crucial to get a good start and have it pay off early,' Hammaker said. "[In] this one, it will be cool to go head-to-head with RJ and Tom and I'll try to get a few more points heading into that Salt Lake City Showdown just to have a little bit of a buffer. Either way, it will come down to that last one. 'It's great to be in this position and have a shot at the title.' Supercross 2025 results: 250 highlights, finish order, at New Jersey, Seth Hammaker wins, takes points lead

Seth Hammaker took the lead from holeshot winner Nate Thrasher on the first circuit and held his advantage for 19 laps to become the first 250 East rider to win multiple races in 2025 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. With the victory, he broke out of a tie with RJ Hampshire for the points lead with two divisional rounds remaining, one of which is an East / West Showdown in the Salt Lake City finale. None of the Eastern riders have been perfect, but Hammaker got one of his bad races out of the way early after struggling with his health in the second round in Detroit. He finished well outside the top 10 in 17th. Hammaker also suffered a disappointing finish in the muddy Foxborough, Massachusetts, race, but all of the title contenders struggled that day, and the impact was minimal. Even though Hammaker has a three-point gap to Hampshire and sole possession of the red plate, he knows the advantage can be lost as quickly as it was gained. Click here for a full recap of New Jersey Hampshire's biggest disappointment this season came in the series opener in Tampa, Florida, when he got hung up on a Tuff Blox on the first lap. He finished 18th in that race and was forced to play catch-up for much of the season, but podium finishes in Detroit, Daytona, and Birmingham put him in a position to capitalize on Tom Vialle's troubles in back-to-back races at Foxborough and Philadelphia. He came into New Jersey with a share of the points lead and could reclaim it with a win in Pittsburgh this weekend. Hammaker, Hampshire, and Vialle were separated by two points entering MetLife Stadium. They each had a solid run and stood on the podium, but Vialle lost five points in New Jersey and must overcome a seven-point hurdle in the final two races if he wants to defend his 250 East title. If anyone was prone to discount Cullin Park's second-place finish in the mud at Foxborough two weeks ago, the Florida native backed it up with a second top-five finish in East Rutherford. He was fourth in the rundown. New Jersey 450 Results For much of the afternoon, it appeared Nate Thrasher would become part of the championship conversation. A win in Birmingham quickly gave way to a pair of sub-10th-place finishes in Foxborough and Philadelphia, and with his fifth-place finish in MetLife Stadium, he has been practically eliminated from consideration. His three top-fives this season have been evenly spaced enough to keep him from gaining momentum. Thrasher crossed under the checkered flag fourth, but was penalized one position for gaining an advantage while off course. Austin Forkner was another rider who seemed to make progress. He showed speed in the preliminaries and scored a top-five in his heat. He rode in the top five for most of the Main but fell off the lead lap with two laps remaining and could only match his season-best finish of seventh.
