Woman arrested after daytime robbery at high street jewellers
An Isle of Wight woman has been arrested after a high street jewellers was robbed in broad daylight. A man who reportedly punched a member of staff remains at large, however. As previously reported by the County Press, a ring was stolen during the incident at Sandown Jewellers, on Sandown High Street, at 3.20pm on Sunday (August 3). Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said a woman distracted a member of staff, while a man stole a ring. It has since been confirmed that a 30-year-old woman from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. She has been bailed while enquires continue. Arrest after cyclist pushed off Sandown seawall on Isle of Wight
A man has been arrested after a cyclist was pushed off a seawall while riding alongside a woman, in her 60s, had been cycling along Culver Parade in Sandown, on the Isle of Wight, on Tuesday at about 15:10 was reportedly pushed off her bike and needed hospital treatment for her injuries after plunging several feet onto the beach below, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary force said a 38-year-old man from Ryde had been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Arrest after man knocked unconscious in bus station brawl
A man was knocked unconscious during a fight on an Isle of Wight seafront last night, prompting police to make an arrest. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary officers descended on Ryde Esplanade shortly after midnight. Police were called to reports of a group of people fighting. Part of Ryde Bus Station was cordoned off following the incident, which saw a man knocked unconscious. Two die after car goes over cliff into the sea near the Needles
Two people have died after a car went over a cliff into the sea on the Isle of incident happened on Friday evening at Alum Bay New Road, near the Needles. Police confirmed the deaths on identification has yet to take place but the families of those who died have been and Isle of Wight Constabulary said it was carrying out enquiries on behalf of the coroner at an address in Cowes.
