'King Of The Hill' Revival First Look Revealed
The animated series King of the Hill is receiving an all-new revival. The original series ran from 1997 to 2009 and delivered a hilarious look at everyday life in a way that few animated sitcoms have managed to achieve. Now series creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are returning for the King of the Hill revival, the first look at which you can see below. The original series existed in a time-frame that more or less lasted a few years, and as you can see in the first look, the King of the Hill revival takes place in our much more modern era. Fans can see the classic set of characters – Hank Hill, Dale Gribble, Bill Dauterive, and Boomhauer – as they stand in the alley just like the original show often depicted. We also getting a look at Peggy Hill and Bobby Hill as well. However, they seem to have had their traditional lives impacted by current technology and trends, which includes drones, Mega Lo Eats, and a virtual reality headset. Here's the image: The cast of characters will once again have the voices of Mike Judge as Hank Hill, Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive, and Judge as Boomhauer as well. Sadly, Dale actor Johnny Hardwicke passed away in 2023. It's been said that he recorded dialogue for some episodes – but it's unknown just how his character will be handled beyond that. Nevertheless, fans are eager to see how this new take on King of the Hill pans out, especially with the characters having been aged up to match the world around them. This includes Pamela Adlon's Bobby Hill, the son of Hank and his wife, Peggy Hill, who will finally be depicted as a grown adult. It's an exciting time for audiences as we wait for our return to Arlen, Texas. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the new continuation of King of the Hill set to premiere on Hulu as we have them. For now, however, this first look certainly illustrates what we can expect both old and new to see in the show.

Watch: 'King of the Hill' revival gets title sequence, August premiere date
May 30 (UPI) -- Hulu has released the title sequence for its upcoming revival of animated series King of the Hill, showing the Hill family's exodus from -- and return to -- the town of Arlen, Texas. The streaming service shared the opening title sequence for the upcoming King of the Hill Season 14, which shows Hank Hill and his family moving out of their Arlen home, only to return years later. "After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas, to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill," the official synopsis reads. "Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane." King of the Hill, created by Mike Judge, aired its original 13 seasons on Fox. The original run ended in 2010. Judge returns to voice Hank Hill, alongside other returning cast members Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom and Toby Huss. Johnny Hardwick, who played Dale Gribble in the original 13 seasons, started work on the revival before his death in August 2023. King of the Hill Season 14 premieres Aug. 4 on Hulu.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors It has been a long time since the world has seen "King of the Hill." Now, the series revival is in full swing, which has come with a first look image at the four neighbors from Arlen, Texas. Read more: King of the Hill Revival First Look Brings the Hills Into the 2020s What is 'King of the Hill'? "King of the Hill" is a series created by Mike Jude, who is well-known for the another crude animated cartoon known to the world as "Beavis and Butthead." While "Beavis and Butthead" follows two rock-loving best friends who continually get into trouble while making fun of every genre but heavy metal, "King of the Hill" follows the life of Hank Hill, a propane salesman from Arlen, Texas. Hill and his family, Peggy (wife), Bobby (Son), and Ladybird (dog), live in the same neighborhood as best friends and neighbors Dale Gribble, Bill Dautrieve, and Boomhauer. Hank, Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer often stand in the alleyway, drinking beer with one another. That is, unless they are bothered by another neighbor's foibles. When did 'King of the Hill' first come out? Judge began working on "King of the Hill," when he was busy with "Beavis and Butthead." Judge was paired with Greg Daniels, who formerly worked on "The Simpsons," to move forward after Fox had approved Judge's pitch for the show. "King of the Hill" was meant to serve as a mid-season replacement, but quickly exploded as one of the most popular shows after it debuted on Fox on Jan. 12, 1997. The series would run for 13 seasons and 259 episodes. 'King of the Hill' Cast: Who is Returning? Judge is returning not only to write and produce the revival, but he will also voice both Hank Hill and Boomhauer. Other confirmed returning cast is Kathy Najimy as Peggy, Pamela Adlon as Bobby, and Stephen Root is back as Bill Dauterive. Judge has not yet revealed how much of a part of the cast Dale Gribble will be, as voice actor Johnny Hardwick passed away in 2023, right after the revival had been announced. It would be believed that Dale will appear to some degree, as he is in the first-look image. What is the Plot of the Reboot? The "King of the Hill" revival is going to follow a clearly much older Hank Hill, as he, Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer look far older and grizzled. Dale also appears to be wearing virtual reality headset of sorts. The other known detail about the plot is that Bobby is also much older and is pursuing a career as a chef. Not much is known about the show, though there are set to be more details released soon. When Could the Show be Released? Mike Judge, and many of the other cast are expected to attend Austin's ATX TV Festival, which takes place on May 30. There, more details about the "King of the Hill" revival are going to be revealed. From multiple reports, the revival is slated for a summer release, though a concrete release date has yet to be revealed. The series will be released on Hulu, and considering the reveal event on May 30, August would be a believable release month.
