Iowa star invited to USA Basketball AmeriCup team trials
After an impressive junior season with the Iowa women's basketball program, forward Hannah Stuelke has been selected to participate in the 2025 USA Basketball Women's Americup Team trials, which begin June 17 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She will be joined by 20 other players from across the country who were also selected by the USA Basketball Women's Junior National Team Committee. In addition to Stuelke, three Big Ten players, including Ohio State's Jaloni Cambridge, USC's Kennedy Smith, and Oregon's Grace VanSlooten, are among the 20 others invited. Iowa women's basketball cracks ESPN's Way-Too-Early top 25 rankings for next season
There is no such thing as looking ahead to next season too early anymore in college sports. The transfer portal is constantly churning, teams are seeing roster facelifts, and preparations are already underway. After a successful year in 2024-25 that saw that Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team make another NCAA Tournament appearance and notch a postseason victory, they are looking primed to make that the norm in 2025-26. Iowa spent the early part of the 2024-25 season floating around the top 25 rankings and in ESPN's Way-Too-Early top 25 for next year, the Hawkeyes crack the list at No. 18. 18. Iowa Hawkeyes The graduation of Lucy Olsen and the portal defection of Aaliyah Guyton leaves a big hole at point guard, but if coach Jan Jensen can find replacements, they will enjoy passing to Hannah Stuelke and 6-4 Ava Heiden, who blossomed at the end of the season and could be ready for a big leap as a sophomore. - Charlie Creme, ESPN Iowa returns firepower next year with Kylie Feuerbach, Taylor Stremlow, Taylor McCabe, Hannah Stuelke, and Ava Heiden. There are also reinforcements coming. Iowa has three top-100 recruits coming next year with Addie Deal, Layla Hays, and Journey Houston making their way to the Hawkeyes.
