Canon announced multiple upgrades to its imagePRESS V1000 production printer, enhancing productivity, reliability, and versatility. The company revealed new hardware and firmware improvements, including a vacuum-fed paper deck, an updated user interface, and support for long-sheet handling accessories.
Building on more than 700 successful installations across EMEA, Canon's imagePRESS V1000 now supports the Plockmatic LCT XL Large Capacity Tray. This allows handling media weights up to 400gsm and long sheets up to 1,300mm, expanding automated production for brochures and booklets.
The new vacuum-fed paper deck, previously available only on the V1350 model, improves paper handling and supports challenging media while maintaining a compact footprint. Additionally, the larger 21-inch operating panel on the PRISMAsync print server enhances user experience with better visibility and easier control of print workflows.
Canon also continues to offer cloud-based e-maintenance on the V1000 series, boosting uptime and reducing service visits, especially for remote customers. The printer holds FOGRA 51 certification for high-quality color output and has received INGEDE certification for the recyclability of its printed materials, reflecting Canon's commitment to sustainability.
Customers like UWV in the Netherlands rely on multiple imagePRESS V1000 units to handle large print volumes efficiently. Hans Schmidbauer, Director of Marketing & Innovation at Canon EMEA, said the upgrades reflect Canon's focus on workflow efficiency and customer-driven innovation in digital production printing.
