The 2025 PGA Championship has been full of surprises, with more twists to the tale coming Saturday as the third round takes place at Quail Hollow.
Accomplished players like Brooks Koepka and Justin Rose have struggled, while some surprise names have emerged near the top of the leaderboard. Jhonattan Vegas' 8-under has been a huge story, while Adam Smalley — an alternate who only got to play in this major after Sahith Theegala withdrew with a neck injury — is close behind.
That said, you can't count out some of the PGA Tour's superstars. Within the top 20 scores so far, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is well within striking distance, as is Bryson DeChambeau. The circumstances are set for the third round to be pivotal.
